I'll cross-post this from the Safe Sex thread, as this will be useful to people freshly arriving in Bangkok.
On my very first time with a prostitute, I had condoms break on me THREE times in a row in the span of a few minutes. This was after years of 100% constant condom use (with girlfriends) with no breaking whatsoever. It happened in Nana a few months ago.
How did this happen? Well, in China, where I live, I always buy an orange box of Durex. They are called Durex Together here, they are extra lubricated and of normal thickness.
In Thailand I naturally reached for the exact same box, exact same packaging, also by Durex.
Only after having broken condoms 3 times within 10 mins did I read the fine print. It turns out the orange Durex condoms in Thailand are NOT extra lubricated, AND they are of the extra thin variety (and possibly calibrated smaller too, I'm not sure).
Why Durex packages condoms at opposite ends of the spectrum under the exact same packaging is anyone's guess.
For subsequent sessions, I bought normal condoms and brought my own lubricant and had no further problems.
The lesson: always read the fine print, gentlemen. Always read the fine print.
Hi fellow mongers,
I am on short notice in BKK for about 4 days, I have been here in BKK now about 6 x and know most of the places except 1 that I missed in my previous visits and would love to visit this place. It has been mentioned her in the forum, but since I have short time and some friend is with me I can read throughout the forum.
The place I am searching for and that was mentioned here is a place where I pay a fixed price for 2 girls. Once side of the place offers girls who do anal the other side are normal girls. It is supposed to be run by a french guy and it was described here in the forum as the place where my dreams will come through.
I know this explanation is very vague, but I just can't remember any other detailes but that they will offer anything I would ask for, with 2 girls at a fixed price.
Any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Easyease

Thanks Bonzo1, appreciate the support, but here's the report from tonight, went to nana rainbow 4, quite a few decent looking ladies nothing in the 9 or 10 range but some pretty ladies, they ranged in age and looks, a couple of nuggy ladies a couple of thin ladies, a couple way over the hill ladies and a couple of barely legal ladies, first lady that approached me I bought her a lady drink quoted 600bht bar fine, 2k short time, tried to negotiate 1500bht short time, she looked at me like I was asking for anal with her mom and sister at the same time LOL, ya it was a tad bit uncomfortable so after a bit she went to dance and I got approached by another chick with her friend, was tempted on the double but decided not to, I asked her how much short time she said 2k, ya not to screw myself on a chick I liked I said sure, so bar fine 600bht short time 2k, tipped 300bht I would have tipped more but LOL spent the rest drinking and stuff.
So basically for any noobies out there 2k baht is retail price for short time pretty much at soi cowboy and nana go go bars, if you got skills you can maybe get 1k or 1500bht, I have no skills I pay 2k LOL, I was at nana liquid disco and was quoted 2k for short time as well by 2 girls so take it for what its worth.
It's great you are having a good time. Enjoy reading the reports.
My concern is the next 500 + ISG mongers that read it takes 2,000-3,000 baht ST to get laid will use that price point. Next the girls will ask 3,500 then 4,000 things will only go up from that point.
I have watched this occur in several prime mongering locations. 5 years ago pricing was a big discussion on the Moscow board. Now the current discussion is that Moscow is no longer worth a shit for mongering. Much of Moscow's current issues are due current unrealistic pricing.
You will see the same happen in Bangkok as well.
Better approach is paying the normal price then if you feel you got great service tip the girl.
When a monger overpays the girl realizes she has a sucker and begins to play games, short time the service and will generally provide poor service.
Reading your reports I sense you are a monger newbie. Part of ISG is a guide for correct pricing in any locale.... You and Bonzo may not be able to negotiate to save your lives and choose to overpay, that's your choice. When pussy in BKK is 10,000 baht ST please think back on this discussion.
It's also our prerogative to point this out that you are overpaying for the local market.
I enjoy negotiating. Can't be hurting the girls too badly when they keep coming back multiple times. I always tip the good performers and have had them stay double time or even into the next evening.
Every dollar I save is one less dollar I have to earn AND one more dollar I can spend on women.
Best of luck

Yes, I understand what you are saying Guido, and you are right, I am a noobie at this. But, due to lack of skill and probably because I have the word 'sucker' tatooed on my forehead I have not been able to get 1500bht anywhere in BKK. In Pattaya I was quoted that for LT, but thats another story, I have read guys have paid 1500 normally for ST. I would hope anyone else would research and if they do read my post know that I paid asking price, I'm just posting to give people an idea of what to my experiences were. I know alot of postings here have helped me so hopefully what I post will help someone else.
Unless you are Japanese the selection is quit limited. Most of the lookers will literally only talk to Japanese men.
Are gems to be found, but far and few between.
Also, as previously noted, you will see the same gals from Thermae trolling the Nana parking lot.
Henryv- I have not had that experience. Maybe 1 out of 3 or 4 will turn her nose up at a western man ;like me, but I have had no problem finding what I wanted at Thermae. I know a lot of guys say this, but maybe it is a matter of taste - which girls one is going for?

Guido88
Hey Guido88,
Don't you feel that Moscow's economic explosion had more to do with the rapidly bloated 'localized' pricing than did visiting mongers overpaying themselves into an upward spiral? Controlling a mass of suddenly rich locals ready to blow their money on ho's every night is impossible. This could happen anywhere though, even Bangkok. (The Thais are bragging their brains out about how much they are paying for everything right now, and making rooster crows over THEIR OWN super hot economy. Never a good sign.)
Thai local mongering venues seem to be holding prices steady at the moment, and the reality is Thai. Thai P4P represents over 90% of the market. (No, we are not talking soapies, oilies or bars, more on that at some point in the future.)
"It's also our prerogative to point this out that you are overpaying for the local market. " This simple statement is perfection, thank you Guido88.
My own way of negotiating is dependent on the location. At bars I do a drawdown rate of 20%, then normally award the original asking price by way of tip. I keep the original price and the amount of the tip as completely separate entities. If the girl provides an exceptionally fun and sexy experience, I tip very well, but again, I keep the amount of the tip in specific terms. I see discos and late night clubs as an anomaly. I feel that the entire scene is a con, built around what pricepoint the customer will allow himself to be seduced to. I normally get freebies in multiples at discos, but generally I have to admit that probably costs more and again, generally, it isn't very good sex, (chicks very sexy and super hot for about 20 minutes, cum, fall asleep for a couple of hours, then split = Thai style, but I have to blame a good part of this on the amount of alcohol consumed.) I know others that have paid 6, 000 to 8, 000+ Baht at discos without caring a whit. I don't feel that those guys are pushing prices up across the board at all, in their own sphere possibly, yes, but not in general.
Much to say on this subject.
Again, I feel that a raise in pricing is based more on local economy allowances rather than a what a few suckers tell themselves what they can afford compared to their own pricing at home.

Crazy prices!!
Gentlemen,
All these reports about 3000ST, etc. are very, very disturbing. My question is has there really been a permanent price increase for BKK p4p or is this all just some foolish people throwing around crazy money??
Is the normal rate still 1000-1500ST/1500-2000LT in most go-go's, etc??
There also seem to be people here who are trying to "talk up" the rate for p4p in BKK. Almost as if they actually WANT to see the price increase!?? Why are they doing that?? What is their motive?
There is supposedly a major recession in many faranglands; but yet many farangs are throwing more and more baht at these girls when they arrive in LOS. Why?? Where is all this wealth comming from?

Most thai girls (especially bkk) will always shoot high and unfortunately most guys will pay it. Pussy in bkk has been getting more expensive every year and will continue to do so as long as men continue to pay high prices. My last trip to nana I had a couple of girls quote 2500 ST. I was a bit shocked and insulted!
Most of the girls in Nana will do ST for 1500 and some will go lower. You just have to play a game with them and show them who is boss. The ones who stick to their price are never any good in bed anyway. Use negotiations as a way to build report. Thais are negotiators by nature, so play them at their own game!

When I b*ched about one girl's pricing in the Nana lot she told me this is Bangkok not Pattaya. Bangkok is more expensive. I told her that was exactly why I was taking my ass to Pattaya tomorrow. Needless to say I only did non-pros in those couple of days. I've been to Pattaya many times since and do not see myself returning to BKK unless I'm with a newbie.

So far my landing point on my way to SEAsia was BKK. I always plan a 3-4 days stay there and my favorites are the soapies and oilies for one or two afternoon/evening sessions and that's it. Tulip, Annies, Chavala and Chaopaya 2 are the "must visit" for me with a couple more places each time for a change. Prices in baht have remained almost the same for the last few years in those establishments.
I prefer to enjoy my bed alone lately in BKK.

Does seem like prices BKK for LT have shot up without me realising. I kicked out a disco girl last night who would not budge from her 3000 baht.... maybe i should have negotiated before to avoid such problems back in the room.
Times have changed... perhaps I'll head off the Pattaya !

Open Letter to Jackson
Dear Jackson:
On behalf of many of us here who are sick and tired of these forums being littered with pages upon pages of diatribes about "overpaying,” disparaging and admonishing comments to other members, and the futile, delusional belief that ISG members are able to control the market, I would like to make a case for implementing new policy regarding this topic.
A simple skim of the archives (for instance, going back to Bangkok 2002) shows that prices have changed very little since 8 years ago, meanwhile the same beliefs (I stress this word, "beliefs") and reprimands of a few paranoid, antagonistic, self-elected “ruling” members clutter the board, and in some instances hold it hostage, for days or in some cases weeks at a time. This happens month after month, year after year, on every major forum.
It is not necessary, I believe, to repeatedly debate and refute these members’ hypocritical and irrational beliefs about how markets actually function, their role in these markets not as government but as participants, nor the academics of market behavior: they are not open to rational discourse in the first place and clearly are posting their ad hominem and their often dubious anecdotes simply to gripe, monger in fear, prophesize doom, and gain comfort from the company of other believers. This borders on religious evangelization and certainly is not what many of us want to be subjected to or participate in on ISG.
I would like to reference ISG’s policy on “safe sex” as it already responds appropriately to a very similar problem. Here it is verbatim, with one insertion by me in brackets:
---
It does no good to criticize members for not following what other members may consider to be safe sex [pricing & payment] practices for the following reasons:
1. It never serves to change any one's behavior.
2. It's a disincentive for members to contribute.
3. It almost always leads to arguments.
4. It provides a "cover" for Serial Antagonists to provoke other members.
---
However, since there is also much interest in the subject of pricing in general and since that can have substantial value, I would like to propose the following:
A. Comments in the main forums about pricing be suggestive and informative, but not condemning, disparaging, or authoritative.
B. All debates and officious remarks about what prices “should” be, what people “should” pay, griping about inflation/overpayers/tipping/etc., and otherwise preaching and admonishing behavior of other members, be either a) banned, or b) held in a separate thread.
Respectfully submitted for your consideration.
Bonzo

Bonzo1,
Great suggestion but its unlikely Jackson will see your letter posted here as he does not appear to read these pages with any type of consistency. Suggest you post it in the Letters to the Editor section, under Site Administration on the main page.

Aww, come on, Bonzo … with all due respect and no disparagement intended, don’t you think you’re becoming a bit hysterical over this issue? Now we need official regulations about the discussion of over/under payment opinions? I mean, I agree with you that big spenders don’t affect the market exactly as the cheap Charlie’s complain, but do you really want to stifle their opinions merely because they differ from yours? That’s a little drastic, isn’t it?
Does this mean that if a poster reports that he paid 100 baht to a baht bus driver to go four blocks on Beach Road in Pattaya, the next poster should think twice about telling the guy he overpaid by 90 baht, for fear of getting banned?
Some posters here have actually THANKED other posters for pointing out that they overpaid for this or that service, including sexual services. Such advice, even though it might seem disparaging, can be regarded as a real benefit to the membership. Certainly, we all retain the right to agree or disagree with any opinions expressed by posters and I think it would be wise to keep it that way.
