Not much to it, even on a Saturday night. Of course, as always, you can do well here if the right crowd is in. The downstairs bar is ok to hang out at and you never know what can happen.

For those who don't do clubbing, there are lots of choices in the centre.

Dockers in passage / Kreschatyk is well worth a visit. They have live music, ok food and no Princesses, just normal girls.

Art 44 on Kreschatyk 44 can be good too. Live music. Edible food and again, regular girls.

Volias on Boulevard Shevchenko 1 (beside Lenins statue) is not bad but the bar area is tiny. Best to take a table next to some girls and wait and see.

Honestly, when I was there, I was beyond the right amount of drunkeness, and as it was my first night in Kiev everything seemed great and fun.

The bars you mention are DJ cocktails bars, or just pubs with music? . My feeling is that what lacks in Kiev are unbridled venues as Coyote Ugly in Moscow or xxxx bars in Piter. It doesn't seem that there is a lot of cool artsy / underground spots also, but I could be wrong.
