My first mongering trip to Thailand, just happened to bump into this mate at the airport. He then set me on the wrong course by introducing me to Soi Cowboy, Patpong, Kangaroo club, The Thermae Massage, the Thermae coffee shop bar, Chavala, and so on.

These days, no guide is needed as your have the ISG which tells just about EVERYTHING you could possibly want to know.

Look through the Thailand FAQs as well.

Thailand is more of a "go with the flow" sort of place unless you are on a very tight schedule. Just see what thing appeals to you. Try it. Then just see what happens. Half the fun is exploring new places, things, and above all plenty of pussy.

The biggest flaw in your view, is that we are NOT competing with the Thai taxi driver making 6,000 baht a month. No, each hobbyist is competing with the next guy, who came from the U.S., Europe, Asia, etc. who is making somewhere between US$50K to US$200K, and some much much more. When you buy beach front property in Hawaii, I can assure you, what the local taxi driver makes has no bearing whatsoever on what you just paid for that house.

When you pay 500 baht or 1,000 baht for a girl, guess what. You just paid their market price or higher. She would not have gone with you, if she thought she could get more. The good news, is that you are not competing with the guy looking for the 2,000 baht or 3,000 baht girl. And you are for sure not competing with the guy looking for the 5,000 baht girl (I'm talking real value and not what they 1st ask for).

Everyone weighs out the decision, regarding the girl in front of him for X amount of baht, against what else he can get for more or for less. He then makes a reasonable decision based on what he can afford, what he feels is fair, and what he is ultimately looking for.

One other thing. I have never gone to France to eat at McDonalds to help keep the prices down for French Cuisine, or gone to Las Vegas and not gamble just to keep the table minimums down for others, or gone to Japan and not go to Tokyo, just to help the farmers in the farm lands. We all do what we can, but be reasonable. We don't fly across the world on vacation, just to do what we can to keep prices down for some guy we may never meet.

The market takes care of itself. It always has. The prices will cap themselves off.

I have a business in the UK. I could earn far more money if I relocated my business to London. But I fucking hate the place, and prefer to base myself up in the north of the country.

Similarly, a lot of regional Thais don't like Bangkok for all sorts of reasons, not least of which is the oppressive, humid climate. Even prostitutes make lifestyle choices, believe it or not :).

Well there is another answer.
There are many medium good lookers in Bangkok who cannot get enough customers per day and the cost of living is a lot higher in Bangkok. Too many of the mongers have gone to Pattaya.

So maybe these girls can make enough in Pattaya by doing multiple short times per day, pay their rent, and still have some left over (where its just more of a strruggle in the Bangkok Rat Race).

Maybe they just like the wayward style in Pattaya (where anthing goes).
They don't have to behave prim and proper.

I still think the really stunning girls will make more money in Bangkok but I could be wrong. Might depend on whether they have a sophisticated or low class image.

I wonder what percentage of the super stunners are working in the Japanese clubs at Thaniya Plaza and the like.
They seem to have a lot of venues in Thaniya and must be thousands of girls working there.
I think I will go do a survey of Thaniya Plaza on my next visit and find out how unwelcome Farangs are, how hot the girls are there, and whoops, nearly forgot, how hot are the prices there too?

Maybe I need to dye hair black and put on some eye make-up to try to look a bit Japanese. I might try this at a soapy too to try to avoid the Farang Surcharge. Maybe wear the big dark glasses. No I guess nothing will make me really look Japanese. :(

1St day back on this. My 4th trip to Bangkok.

Staying at Citadines on soi16. All mod cons room and great location for a bargain $59. Plus the best and cheapest thai food 50 yards away in foodland. Try it!

Was planning to go for S3 at Akane around 2pm. But it was closed all week for holiday. How on earth can a massage business totally close for a week? Surely they can rotate vacations or perhaps they have all gone en masse to vacation somewhere. I am sure one of our fellow board members will know.

So, decided Sazanka was my next best option in the area. The sazanka massage course has been reported many times and at over 2 hours really leaves you feeling refreshed. It is not a sexy experience like Akane but does include a long and skilful HJ. Many on here have posted that sazanka is not their cup of tea, and when I think about the course I have the same thoughts. But. Every time I go it ends up feeling really good. Definitely worth the experience. Then you can decide for yourself!

Was ready to roam too early at night (8. 30pm). Couldn't wait so first passed by Soi Cowboy. It was dead. Very few girls even trying to lure me into the bars, which is unusual. Went to Biergarden and Thermae. Bier. Busy, average age 40 and quality very poor. Left after 1 beer. Therm. Only 1/3 full even at 10pm. Average age 25 and lots and lots of cuties. I have had the 'japanese' problem at thermae before but this time it was not evident. Sure, most customers were japanese but several of the 'japanese girls' gave me a look and within a few minutes one really attractive 22 year old was sitting on my knee. We settled on price (farang rates, not japanese) and went home. Friendly but bit of a starfish experience.

Everyone's entitled to different opinions about these places but this is my honest opinion of Bangkok today.

But, like I've said before, the service from the stunner is usually not as good as from the rest. So, with that understanding, it makes sense that they all cost the same.

BTW at this amount I will usually choose service over looks. But if you can get both for 1000 Baht, which is possible in my experience, then consider yourself lucky.

AT2. I think you actually made my point. That's where the problem lies. We have to compete with fellow mongers who overpay that 1000B girl in Thailand because they make good money outside of Thailand. I don't see what McDonalds comparison has to do with a price of tea in China, because I'm talking about overpaying for the same thing, not paying more for something more expensive. If enough people pay 1500B to the girls for something they are used to do for 1000B they'll start charging 1500B. Will that establish a new market value? Sure. All I'm saying is we can try to keep prices at reasonable levels for the country we happen to be in. You are correct in that people tend to make decisions based on what they can afford. At the same time, you don't pay $15mil for an oceanfront property in Hawaii if it's worth $10mil, just because you can afford it. As far as the taxi driver goes, I'm talking about overpaying for the same thing and I hope you're not suggesting we should pay more because we make more money. The girl will not go with you if she thinks she can get more from a next guy. Right! The next guy should not overpay, because it will never end until price levels reflect how much money we make in the west. It should be what we can get away with, not what we can afford. It's P4P, women and human nature we are talking about here. And there is nothing wrong with wanting to compete with people who live there when we buy services from people who live there. The argument which can be made here is that there'll always be a lot of fellow tourists from "rich" countries who pay what they feel like and nothing can be done about that. And nobody has to keep prices down for me as I can afford to spend whatever I feel like when I'm in LOS. As soon as the girls begin to feel like Donald Trump you can kiss good service goodbye. A simple truth: cheap sex is good not only because it's cheap but because it is often better for other reasons which make it cheap or result from it being cheap. This is my opinion. I wish some of the old timers could drop their 2 cents as to when girls' attitude was better - years ago when it was dirt cheap, or now.
