hong kong (dpa) - a 20-year-old filipino woman has been arrested
following the death of two us businessmen allegedly given a ``date
[CodeWord123]'' drug in a luxury hong kong hotel, a report said monday.
the woman was arrested hours after richard victor, 51, and paul
cherry, 45, were found with white froth coming from their mouths in a
room of the 600 us dollar-a-night grand hyatt hotel on friday.
the two men are understood to have visited a number of ``girlie''
bars in the notorious wan chai red light district before their deaths
and to have returned to their hotel with two women, the hong kong
standard reported.
the filipino woman, who had overstayed her visa, was arrested eight
hours after the discovery of the men's bodies after police studied
closed circuit television footage from the hotel, the newspaper said.
it was not clear if the woman was being held in connection with the
killings but the newspaper said the men returned to the hotel before
their deaths with one blonde woman and one thai or filipino woman.
police are understood to be investigating whether the two men died
after being given lethal doses of the ``date [CodeWord123]'' drug
flunitrazepam, or rohypnol in a botched robbery.
there was no sign of injuries on the men or ransacking in the room
and one was found slumped partially on a chair while the other man was
found dead on a bed.
a number of men have been robbed with the use of the drug in hong
kong in recent years, usually after picking up prostitutes from bars
in the city's wan chai nightclub strip.
in most cases, the drug is slipped into a drink and victims report
visiting bars and then waking up to find they have lost large sums of
money with no recollection of what happened.
in 2003, a senior finnish policeman died of a heart attack in hong
kong's island shangri-la hotel after being administered with the drug.
the chinese prostitute suspected of giving him the drug was never
traced.
I regret to report that virtually all 141s in National Court, once the mecca of 141 activity in Kowloon, have been closed.
When I was in Hong Kong six months ago, 80% of the rooms in National Court were rented to the 200+ providers working there. Today, there were only 10-15 remaining.

Haven't been in a while since I figured that the whole crackdown (Buddhist chants, checking IDs at the lobby), would reduce the number of visitors, hence providers (business downturn, plenty of good alternative working locations). Hope the other homeowners don't follow National Court's lead.
Of course, you can just walk across the street to New Lucky House. Looks like the owners and providers there are the big winners.
it's sort of curious, actually, that they found the flipper/thai provider so quickly but never found the chinese provider from 2003. wonder if they just randomly grabbed a reasonably similar looking flipper (re: video camera evidence) and nailed her for the deed. they didn't find the blonde woman after all.
hey, maybe this helps depress pricing in wan chai. there's a silver lining in every tragedy!
Felt horny so I went to the 8 Mong Kok YS as discussed in the last few posts. One thing to note is that there are a lot of 8 Mong Kok Streets, 8, 8A, 8B, etc all the way up to 8E as far as I saw, and some of them are separated by Portland Street. Very strange. The one you want is just 8. If you take the MTR to Mong Kok Station and take exit A2, turn right out of the exit, walk a block then cross Mong Kok St, you'll be close. In the entryway you'll see a yellow sign. Go up 2 flights of stairs and walk down the hallway, the entrance is on the left.
The directions above are mostly correct but potentially misleading. Once you cross Mongkok Road, you turn left immediately (not mentioned in the directions above). Because if you don't turn left and walk straight ahead, there is indeed a large yellow sign. But it's a sign for a seperate karaoke place.
So a more correct direction follows:
- Exit A2, Mongkok MTR station
- Turn right upon exiting
- Cross Mongkok Road
- Turn left immediately after crossing
- After a few paces, look for white sign with blue chinese characters. Enter that entryway.
I had my first experience there and will post a report next week after I leave Hong Kong. I may return to the place later this week and don't want the papasan to remember me from an internet posting. I know for a fact that he reads them. In general, the place is everything described by previous posters.
Another US aircraft carrier is coming to town this weekend.
Expect the worse in Wan Chai with all those hungry sailors looking for sex.

Two lots of fleet in the same month. The streets will be ankle deep in runny stuff.

I've noticed a sharp increase in providers at New Lucky House and Foremost Building. But the increase is no where close to absorbing all the losses at National Court.
I hope there isn't a disturbing anti-141 trend in the city. I've noticed Fook Kiu Building in TST, one of my favorites, also has a lot of empty rooms. I think illegal immigrant sweeps are having a negative impact on the industry. On many doors at Fook Kiu, it says "HK gal" -- perhaps alerting authorities that it isn't occupied by an illegal mainlander.
Furthermore, as we get closer to the 2008 Olympic Games, there may be added pressure to clean up vice. The Equestrian events are being held in Hong Kong.
The big 141 complexes in Causeway Bay were as busy as usual.
Firstly guys this is one of the most informative sites I have read. Keep it coming.
Can any one tell me if there will be any US carrier or ships coming to Hong Kong between the 11th - 18th of November. Obviously I will be there during that time and could not think of anything worse than having to compete with the Navy Boys. Any information would be really helpful.

I agree, also hotels and girls in Shenzhen is way cheaper than Hong Kong. Check out the Shenzhen post for details. I am always amazed that tourist guys pay big bucks for sex on Hong Kong island and Tsim Sha Tsui, especially from Flips and Thai girls. Sex with these girls is dirt cheap in their own country.
Also, lots of these girls are always trying to scam you, just think of the deaths that have taken place over the past several years with tourist guys picking up girls from the Wan Chai and TST area--it's no joke.
One may think it is not a problem to pick up girls in these areas. But think for a moment, here you are paying HK$500, 1,000, 1,500 or more for sex. In their country, this would feed a family for several months. What they get paid (overpriced) for one sex session, it would take them 1 to 2 months to earn (working a regular job) in their country. When you pay big bucks for sex, these girls think you are RICH! Of course these dirt poor girls are going to try to steal it from you, I would too if I was in their shoes.
It's like having a table full of food and throwing a hungry man some bread, of course he is going to try to steal food from you when you are not looking, or even kill you for all of it. This is human nature.

2. Only mainlander chinese there. No ethnic variety that HK has.
