After a short sleep in the afternoon, I'm back at Paradise drinking and leering at the passing girls. One of them sees me admiring her, and starts gesturing to Texas just up the street. I file this away for future reference.

One of the things I did do right on my recent trip to AC was to pickup a copy of the "Angeles City Guide", a handy little guide of AC that had a nice sized map of the bars in AC. You can pick one up for free at the Tourist Information Center at the corner of Fields and Raymond st. The guide came in pretty handy, espcially since I was concurrently following Sir Lancelot's OUTSTANDING field report from AC last month. Thanks again Sir.

For folks who have never been is to AC. Imagine that for purposes of our hobby, there is one main area of AC, and that is primarily a 3/4 mile strip of Go-Go bars called Fields Ave. If you decide to visit AC, understand that you will probably be spending a good chunk of your day walking up and down said strip of Fields Ave or in a bar on Fields Ave, or in a hotel within 100 feet of Fields Ave. It IS the red light district. Catering to foreigners.

AC doesn't seem to be built up around the bars. AC overall seems to be a by-product of the US military presense in times past. The big Mall that you would likely visit is in a small corner of the former base, and the AC airport IS the former Clark Airbase. Take a look at it on Google Maps and it really puts things in perspective. It is way, way oversized for AC. It was built to land the largest mililtary aircraft in the world.

I have a raggedy, folded-up, beat up copy of the "Angeles City Guide". It isn't really fit to scan and post. If you have a clean copy and a scanner, it would be really cool if you could post a montage. Who'se going to AC next? Concarne? Anyone?
