That place is a trip, like white water rafting without the raft. I have some pictures but I need to edit the faces before I post.

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to post a trip report on my time in Sosua. First of all, it was fantastic. I stayed for 7 nights at the New Garden. I was in the new wing and it was pretty nice. Hot water, fridge, Sat TV with ABC, CBS, NBC etc, big bed, cleanliness, friendly staff. It was all great. The breakfast in the morning was as good as reported. They make the breakfast to your specifications, which is very cool. Especially since it was included in the cost of your room. The only complaint I would have would be that the wifi didn't work well. It constantly went in and out of service. Not a big deal, though, unless you are really into streaming video, etc. Overall, I'd recommend it to others, and it looks to be one of the better hotels down there.

The chicas are plentiful, that is for sure. They are all over the place. I grabbed girls at the hotel bar, off the street, at the discoteca, other bars on the strip, and at Passions. I was only disappointed in one experience, and it was my fault for not nailing down what I wanted before I brought her to my room. But, by and large, every other experience I had down there would be classified as GFE. The girls were drop dead gorgeous. A few of the girls were so stunning, I was in practically in awe of how fortunate I was to be in their presence, if only for hour or two.

I will say that I loved Passions. It is a great place for someone new to the scene to get started. The girls are beautiful, not very pushy, great rooms, set prices, and the girls really know how to get down to business. Both girls I grabbed (on two separate occasions) knew how to make someone feel good in various ways. I was going to go to CMP on my second walk east on Clisante, but I accidentally passed it and ended up in front of Passions. Figured it was a sign, so I went in for round two. No CMP this time. I'll give it a run next time I go.

I only went all night with one girl, and she was worth it. Beautiful girl. She was amazing in bed, and had a fantastic personality. Very cute and playful. She was fun as hell. I met her in the discoteca. In retrospect, I should have gone there more. Seemed like a good place to gauge chicas on a few different levels. Am I right about that, or am I just projecting because I found a really good on my first visit? Anyway, I did short time with all the other girls, which is the way I usually like it.

Some of the nuts and bolts of the trip: Flight. I flew in to Puerto Plata (POP). Easy flight with one stop in Miami. POP is truly only about 15 minutes away from Sosua by taxi. Easy. For a first timer, it was the way to go. I know you get there cheaper by going to the other airport, but I'd recommend coming in the easy way, at least the the first time in. Food. Food is available all over, man. I tried to eat at a new place every day, and I was pretty successful. (sorry, I suck with names) Many nationalities represented. I tried to eat mainly "Latin" food (When in Rome. .) but I also had some Americanized foods. Heck, during the AFC and NFC championship games, I got a pizza from across the street from New Garden. I walked over and ordered and they delivered it to me. Very cool. Most of the prices were inexpensive, Terre Linda's restaurant being somewhat the exception. They weren't bad, but a little higher than most. Nice place, though. Safety. Meh. It's a third world country, so you want to watch your 6 when you're out late at night, but it's really not bad at all. Just take the usual precautions and exercise caution, and you'll be fine. I was out by myself a lot at night and had no problems. MUCH safer than San Jose, Costa Rica. Beach. 10 minute walk and beautiful. Grab a chair close to the water and away from the row of businesses and relax. Something to do to between breakfast and nighttime.

Would I go to Sosua again? Hell yes! I had a great time. I've been to Amsterdam and Costa Rica so far. And while they're great, Sosua is better.

That's my report. Hope it helps someone out. And thanks again to the forum. I asked a list of questions awhile ago, and many guys gave me good advice. I appreciate it, truly.

Final note to future hobbyists:

How beautiful the girls are (and how many are available!) is something that that is hard to convey to someone that hasn't made a trip like this. If you are reading this and thinking of going on your first trip. Get your f*cking passport and go.

Thanks for the report Henley100. It seems like you had a great trip. Your post reminds me of what this forum should be all about. At times the focus is too much on the negative, rather than the beauty that is the Dominican Republic.

1. This seems to be a common experience with wi-fi in the DR. I too have found that shared wi-fi in a hotel is unreliable if you need reliable Internet service. However there are plenty of Internet cafes where you can rent a terminal, print and scan documents, send faxes, etc. If you need to. For the price of a chica for the night you can also buy a Claro USB dongle including enough data for your stay and this may be the way to go if you really want Internet 24 hours a day.

2. Those of us who have spent a lot of time in Sosua easily become blase and overlook how beautiful many of the girls are. If you come to the DR for the first time from the US, it will seem like there are beautiful women everywhere and you will be overwhelmed. After a while in the DR, you start to take it for granted that you will have a beauty or beauties playing some role in your life. Photographs that you see here are invariably misleading for several reasons, including:

A) people who post are not skilled photographers and do not plan the lighting and ambience of their pictures for maximum effect, b) they are too concerned about showing women naked, but figure photography is difficult to do well, c) it takes a certain amount of skill to photograph darker skinned subjects well, d) often the photographs are not edited or photoshopped to improve visual quality, e) few people will want to post face pictures of women they have a real relationship with, f) photographs rarely capture the real personality and often charming nature of the subjects, g) a lot of girls don't want to be photographed, because they know their pictures may appear on the Internet.

Hey fellas, I've searched the forum and can't find a clear answer for my question. What's the most cost effective way to travel from STI airport in Santiago to Sosua. Currently the flight from NY to Santiago is 395 and from NY to Puerto Plata is 900 for the dates that I want to go. So I will be saving a good chunk by flying into STI. I would not mine taking the bus as my flight would be arriving around 5 AM so I have plenty of time to get to Sosua and check into my hotel. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was told by this german lady that I met there that you can take a GuaGua. However in my own opinion, I like the independence of having my own vehicle. Hey The waterfalls is a MUST DO! 2. Take a Cab to Metro and or Caribe Express bus station in downtown santiago. They are practically next to each other.

3. Check the schedule. And buy a ticket. There should be a bus every hour. Approx 160 pesos ($4) one way / A-C bus.

4. I prefer Metro because it stops at a convenient location in Sosua. Travel time 90-120 minutes.

Its about a 75minute scooter ride.

Going back from Sosua to Santiago airport is a bit more tricky if your return flight departs in the small hours of the morning, because the buses don't run late at night. You could probably negotiate and arrange a taxi ahead of time for about $3000 pesos from Sosua, but since you will have to leave your hotel by about 1:00 pm with your baggage, you will have a long day. You might want to get public transportation back to Santiago and then check into a hotel there and leave from there to the airport freshly fed, showered, and rested. This will not save a lot of money, but would be much less exhausting and you could sightsee a bit in Santiago. You could also get a cabana room close to the airport, which might save some money, and you might even be able to find a young lady to share your last hours in paradise.
