Prostitution in Sri-Lanka is illegal. As everything else it is very difficult to find about the laws in Sri-Lanka, in Sri-Lanka computers are not so common. In my country you can get everything on internet, laws, and my invoice comes directly to my bank I just read and send ok if it is so.

Anyway what I have understood the law is from 1841 and that means that it is the woman who will be punished. I do not think much will happen to you if you get problems pay them a few hundred under the table. What have understood it are the people behind who gets the punishment.

What I do not understand is why are you going to mp:s, get freelancers or get a good thrust full pimp. At mp:s you get a limited time, freelancers you can play around with for some time and much safer.

Free sex in Sri-Lanka I do not think you ever can get it is going the other way in our country you get punished as a buyer and not small money either, if you get court have to pay around 400000 (rps). In Thailand sex buying are not legal but it is a lot of sex going on in Thailand. The biggest problem in Sri-Lanka is the custom that girls cannot go out in evening alone. I do not think you will get much of tourist from the western countries, of course tourism are increasing but it is from a very low level and mostly Asians, it is the western tourist who have the money. Sri-Lanka is too expensive, what are there to see? Stonehenge and tea estates are not much to see. Western tourist chose Thailand.

But then again as KT has pointed out Fridays are especially risky, as if they raid on Fridays they can keep the ladies and the operators the whole weekend. Also I'd say evenings, it's less likely to be raided in the mornings where the customers are somewhat low.

I really cannot tell about the areas, because you never know which police station raiding where. So luck matters.

This effectively disallows any public act of coercion, seduction for illegal intercourse. There are several other acts which specifically deal against prostitution (as in against the pimps). However it is not an offense to have sex with someone except your spouse if no money or other favours are paid in return.

Hi Guys,

After a long time I am reporting, this is to say there is this good MP in front of Kiru. Ne market, on top of the famous food outlets, its a bit tricky to go as you could be seen to the road but then I gave it a try yesterday as one of JG Mount girl is there. Assume you meet a prostitute at a public place. Negotiate and bring her to a hotel. Pay her directly. Money transaction is directly with the pro. No pimp involved. Then what. Is it illegal and under what ordinance.
