I have yet booked / paid for accommodation as yet as I like to go with the flow on most occasions but I know / stayed in a few clean, nice places around walking ST eg galaxy suites and previously I've stayed in Areca and Baywalk residences, which I found were quite nice hotels with good facilities.

But it sounds more to me that your question was more to make a recommendation?

I will be in Pattaya staying at Areca Lodge Nov 17-Dec 1. If anyone wants to have a beer and hang out, PM me! I'm from Northern California. I'll buy the first beer!

Walking on Beach road around 0400, a paddy wagon [pick up truck] pulls up and police seem to come in from all sides using flashlights herding all the women on beach road toward the pickup.

About 5 minutes later all are gone, and no women to be seen on beach road [some slowly returning from across the street].

Talk to a few women opposite beach road and they tell me that the girls are arrested and are able to secure their release for 200 Baht tea money. They indicate the sweeps can happen multiple times a night.

Seems a bit harsh. Perhaps unrealistic, I can't see it making economic sense to sit on beach road all night and pay 200-600 baht for the privilege. Perhaps I got some of the information incorrect, otherwise beach road wouldn't have such a persistent population?

Ran into one of my go-go girls hiding out in a 7-11 too, seems it was a slow day for her, and she hit the beach. Meaning it is possible to pull go-go quality on beach at least after the clubs close.

Whats the normal taxi fare to Pattaya from BKK (Nana area)

This time of the year including May which again they were doing this is prime time for Tea Money! School has been out for a few weeks basically here it is like Spring break (Mid-term) and school just open. The bi-Annual installment for school is due!

Helmet check will most likely increase too, setup nightly at corner of Pattaya Tai and just off 3rd Road, Pattaya Klang (near tuk tuk taxi parking) off Sukhumvit, corner of Pattaya Tai and 2nd Road heading toward Marine Plaza across from police box, Beach Road, just outside police station Soi 9, ride on the right as you pass, and stay there since usually they have a second stop just past Central Festival entrance, top of 2nd road and Dolphin circle heading to Naklua, and watch out now for lefting left at intersection with sign that says " waiting light, turn left " this I understand means you can't turn and before you do on a red, edge out and look left to see if there is a police setup before doing so?

Once a girl in Nana Plaza in Bangkok told me they had to pay 1000 baht tea money when they were picked up.

"Laws dictate that unless evidence is collated which proves they are involved in prostitution or other criminal acts they can only be fined for loitering which is what they were charged for on Saturday morning. 100 Baht fines were paid"

There's not much plausible denial they can argue for because they are in the same stretch of beach every single night of the year. Not to mention that unlike foreigners, locals can pretty much identify working girls from their various 'tells. ' They might get out of a few night's fees by making stuff up, but in the end, they just pay up (as the police don't let up either as they have their own financial issues).

If you're on a budget then Pattaya is your town. It doesn't matter where your hotel / guesthouse is, the city is so small, hop on the baht bus and you'll be there in a few minutes. I saved huge on hotel / guesthouse, paying roughly half of what I would pay in BKK per night! Food is cheap too! And the Beach Road girls will complete the picture of perfect monger happiness. Most will go for 500 ST and available 24 hours a day. Really! One night I went to sleep early be / see of hangover and I woke up at 4am and went to BR and viola! I got a girl for 500.

Walking Street is flashy and all that, but it's really geared towards tourists. Next time I would stay away from there. And spend more time on soi 6.

Yes, I would go back to Pattaya.

Years before after loitering whole night in walking street arrived on the Gate at 4. 00 am. Suddenly a slim well shaped girl rushed out from the beach road in front of me. Instantly my whole body and mind refreshed out from the whole night tiresome hangover. My eyes glued on her and I asked does she want to go with me or not. She claimed 500bht for short time. I laughed out and pointed her about the police raid on the beach road. I made some silly jokes with her and offered 800bht for the whole day (not for some couple of hours). She jumped on it and stick to my arm, ok let's go. Her eagerness made me so astonished and it was been clearly felt her fearing and the tendency for running out from the raid scene.

Ye, I did not paid her only 800bht for the whole day. She just a GF and absolutely nice in all aspects. I paid her 1500bht and paid all the expanses was in need to stay with me whole day.

I always pay thanks to myself, not to grab the cheap advantage was been offered by the police raid on beach road on that night.
