On the way back, there are a few vans parked in the lot across from JIB, and drivers hanging out at the corner, soliciting riders Northbound to San Diego, Santa Ana, LA, Fresno, Stockton.

One night coming back at 2 AM, my car pool driver screwed up, I had to negotiate a ride with a van driver with his right hand amputated. The only other passenger was an old farm hand going back to work in Fresno. He dropped me off in front of my house in OC at 4 AM. I remember paying him about $30 for the ride. He continued on to Fresno, picking more passengers in LA.

These vans would drop people off at their houses. They should have no problem dropping you off at any parking lots along freeway 5.

I also once hitched a ride with a monger at the exit of the JIB parking lot, giving him $15 for gas. There are all sorts of transportation Northbound from the buses and vans across from the JIB.

I have been crossing the border at San Ysidro so often with my Global Entry card, CBP and NSA probably classify me as a border rat. Hehe.

You just have to man up and negotiate your deals clearly and specifically with the chicas. Make sure you and they agree on the length of time, the specific acts that you desire, and the exact amount of money to be paid only after the session.

In HK club, I have overheard local Mexican guys do long and cheap negotiations for specific sex acts with every 50 pesos with the top-tiered chicas. The chicas were all cool. It just business to them, no personal insults perceived.

My best advice is to observe a bit before diving into the water. If you read posts from the vets, you will notice they do a walk about and observed first. Walk around, grab their assess, tip them a dollar and see how they react. From my limited experience, if you can communicate them, whether via Google or your broken Spanish or her broken English you will have more fun.

Greyhound and other Mexican buses stop at the parking lot right behind the McDonalds. It's along the walking path to cross the border into Mexico.

At all hours late at night there are buses waiting to go North back to LA, or to go South into Tijuana downtown, the airport and the bus station.

There is a ticketing office and a little waiting room right behind the McDonalds in that parking lot.

IMHO it happens more often during slow times (when the meseros are not otherwise busy) and tends to happen to newbies or curmudgeoned old vets that are not well liked in the bar. A similar play when monger has his own room in Cascades or Rizo de Oro is for the shitty mesero to cum up with a bucket and say that for the chica to stay any longer you must buy a new bucket of fichas for her.

Looks like the clean up boy saw a new face with two girls and concluded that he was a walking ATM machine. The desk person (night manager) and the manager of Tropicals are permanent employees with a lot at stake at their jobs. One should complain promptly and directly to both of these people. Saw a lot of cops and people standing around the intersection. I thought it was a fight until I asked a bystander, he told me it was a shooting. I walked closer to the store and saw the body. He was shot in the head. The assailant ran down the street towards Chicago club and I saw to cops running down the street with assault rifles. They didn't catch him. Pretty nuts, after a few minutes of watching, I went into Hk. Not to scare anybody, but Tijuana is just as dangerous as any city in the United States. I've been here 3 times, and never seen anything like this. If you are new, just stick to Hong Kong and Adelita bar. Stay safe. Tijuana is a lot of fun, I believe that most of the violent crime is local on local. This post was not to scare anybody. If your are planning to come to Tijuana, please don't let this post detour you, again, anything can happen at anytime and anywhere. This was very unusual to happen in the Zone.

While El Chapo was in prison, the Tijuana cartel stole a lot of Sinaloa cartel's turf. Now the Sinaloa cartel is trying to get their turf back.

La Zona's top dealer was executed a few weeks ago, presumably for switching side to the align with the Tijuana cartel. Sinaloa cartel will probably whack all old dealers if they don't come back. Putas bars and chicas trafficking are far more lucrative than the drugs trade. Wonder when the cartels will try to muscle in putas bars.

It's safer to hide in the big bars. Just in case the cartel guys come in the door, spraying the bars with their AK-47's, stay well away from the doors, try to hide behind some corners, and drop down flat on the ground when gun shots start popping.

I noticed that these events tend to occur mid-week with lesser witnesses. So I would restrict my visits to Thurs-Fri-Saturday and in more populated areas. BTW it's Carnival at HK tonight! Yes there is a war out there with sides after each other. But I do believe (IN MY OPINION ONLY_NOT A FACT) that the drug cartels will not go and shoot up the big hooker / stripper bars in Tijuana, not like crazies in theaters in the USA! Captain I guess you are up for employee of the month in Hong Kong for giving advise how to survive a cartel attack in Hong Kong!

Drug dealers hang out and sell their loads in front of the Tecate beer store at that corner, and in front of the Caliente betting parlor in the alley.

Remember the old gag - "Last night I went to a fight, and a hockey game broke out!" Well, Friday I went to a fiesta, and a baseball game broke out.

I noticed that last Friday was the last game of the regular season for the Tijuana Toros, their minor league team. So, why not? I got some tix online and made plans to go.

The mistake was choosing the last game of the season. It was unusually crowded. The parking lot is nowhere near large enough for a capacity crowd. The game started at 7. I was in the general area at 6:15 and the lines were un-fricking-believable. I finally got parked in some dirt lot at the base of the hill at around 7:30. Got into the seats at about 8. It was the very bottom of the 2nd, because the Red Devils of DF had scored 6 runs in the top of the 2nd. Dayum I felt like a Dodger fan. I really felt like one when we left in the top of the 8th. I wasn't about to go through another 90 minutes trying to leave the stadium.

Anyway, the whole atmosphere is like a giant party. Baseball is fun in the States, but the Mexicans seem to take it to another level. Lots of chanting and cat-calls, the only time the music stopped was just before the pitcher pitched, and it would resume immediately after. Between innings these extremely hot cheerleaders would do dance numbers. The still pic doesn't do them justice, due to the net. I can't upload the video. Overall the game was secondary to the party. I mentioned that you had to love a place where pretty women can shake their asses, while wearing skimpy costumes, and everybody thinks it's perfectly normal. In the States the feminazis have conniption fits.

The concourse was full of places to buy tacos, fruit, and every type of finger food known to man. All at roughly street prices, I. E. 15 pesos for a taco. But better still, they had vendors running around all night who would bring the stuff to you. You pay big bux in Angels Stadium or Petco to sit in the in-seat service seats. It was great having your beer brought to you. Each glass set me back 20 pesos, IIRC. Imagine what would happen if they had $2 beer night at Dodger Stadium.

The seats I got were three rows above the home dugout. Something like $200 in Anaheim, I suspect. These were a whopping 50 pesos.

So, all-in-all I recommend this as something different to do with your MBGF, other amigos, or whomever. Just get there a bit early and don't go on the last day of the season.

Oh, and if anybody cares, the Toros lost 9 to 4.
