Guys,

Just two short questions:

1- is the Tune Hotel in Manila (Ermita) girl-friendly? Any problems / experiences?

2. How big are the rooms? I have been to the Tune Hotel at the LCCT in KL. These rooms were so small. You could hardly turn around. So I would like to know how big they are in Ermita.

The problem is that the best punting destinations in the PI like AC, Subic, Manila, and Cebu City either have no beaches or in the case of Subic offer up a polluted beach. And conversely the best beach destinations in the PI give you limited or 2nd best punting possibilities. What to do? What to do?

Choice one: you can choose in favor of the beach and compromise on the nightlife a little. Boracay, the most popular beach in the PI, is IMHO far from the best beach destination in PI. Furthermore, Boracay has only a few bars like Cocomangos and Perar where FL's hang out and where you may find what you want. Keep in mind that there is a possibility that you won't find what you want. That is why I think Sabang is a better choice especially if you want to partake in a decent nightlife, but still want to be close to some beautiful beaches like White Beach. You could stay in Sabang town and go to the nearby Puerto Galera beaches during the day or you stay on one of the nice beaches out of town and come into Sabang for some nightly entertainment. Sabang has about a half dozen bars/discos like Las Vegas and Village that will definitely have the girls you want. Lt is 3000p.

Choice two: If the girls and a great nightlife are more important to you than a beach vacation, but you still want to be on the ocean, then Subic is your best bet. I love Subic. It is really great here. The bars are lively and the girls are super friendly. My favorite bars are Lollipops, Angelwitch, and Rum Jungle to name just a few. There is a good possibility that in 10 days you will meet a really nice girl that you click with and you can take her for a short side trip to Pundaquit and the off shore islands. Pundaquit is about an hour from Subic and it is pretty nice there.

Choice three: fly into AC or Manila, leave your travel plans open, spend a couple of days, hook up with a nice Pinay, and if all goes well, invite her to go on a beach holiday with you to Boracay or Palawan. For beach getaways, I much prefer Palawan way over Boracay. Palawan is less touristy/more natural and the beaches like Sabang (different from Sabang, Puerto Galera) , Long Beach, and El Nido are stupendous. The problem with choice three is that it puts pressure on finding the right girl right away. It is been my experience that the right girl always comes along when you are not really looking for her.

So choose what alternative sounds best to you. With your stated criteria, I think the Sabang, Puerto Galera trip is probably your best bet because it checks all your boxes. But no matter what you decide to do, I think you are going to have a great time so don't forget to post a trip report when you get back.

I already have a degree (graduated in 09). I am doing an online program for my teaching license to be able to work at International Schools anywhere in the world, which I finish in a few months.

I have spent the last 4-5 years of my life revolved around traveling and having fun. Once my upcoming trip is finished I am heading to the Middle East where I will start to really save money and get the ball rolling on a few investments I have in mind.

Waste of 4 months?

Banging tons of girls, trying new food, awesome beaches, making new friends, learning a new language, and learning to dance is about the furthest thing from wasting one's life / time.

It's not the best time weather wise like most of the Philippines. I think if you want to go to a place like that that you should go to a major P4P place for at least a few nights and maybe find one or two to take with you. It's not a lot of time to do such a thing though, so you have to be a little lucky and have good senses.

NB is right: Boracay is not a place to find honey. You bring it with you there (probably same any other place you plan to swim, other than Puerto Galera).
