I wanted to try the VIP hotel, because it is literally in the middle of the action. Velez St is sw central, with plenty of girls in the side streets.

The advertised price on their web page for a standard room with matrimonial bed is 850. Actual price is 1950 for a business room with matrimonial bed.

I got a front room, and the noise level was deafening all night. The place is worn out. Very overpriced, the Mallberry beats this place hands down for value for money.

Turned out that at midnight, when I went out to look for a SW, there were few obvious sw. I decided to walk down the street to the Divisoria mall, whch was almost totally closed down. I was accosted by a pimp, and negotiated a price of 700 for a girl for the rest of the night till 6 am. I told him that I like them skinny, and he brought a skinny one. But her dress, demeanor and facial expression were against her, and my thoughts were on Miss J. So I turned him down. Later I thought that her demeanor was probably because she was very new at the business. I checked out New Oro Love City. It was now 12.30 midnight, Friday. The place is very bare, and there is no comparison with the bars of Angeles, or Burgos, or Cebu for entertainment, energy and ambience. There were only a few customers, generally low life pinoys. Probably 10 girls. Surprisingly 3 of them were more than presentable. Good figures, no obvious stretch marks, reasonably pretty faces.

The bf is 3,000, lt, total price, bar plus girl. Or you can pay 2,000 for a romp in a VIP room, time unlimited, and apparently anything goes. Ld is 500 for the first, 250 for others. Beers 50 pesos, 60 pesos entry, not consumable.

But by now I had miss J on my mind, and all others faded into insignificance in comparison, so I departed empty handed.

I had found Miss J on a dating site a few months before I started my trip, and she came through as very different to almost all women that I had found this way. She is university qualified, a professional, and well established in her profession. Well paid, financially secure, family middle class.

So before I got to CDO, I had started a texting blitz, that she seemed to enjoy. I had allocated her Saturday night, as she could not get away from her job earlier. We talked for hours, I mapped the constellations in the stars, she told me about her career, family, anything else.

It was enchanting.

Eventually we just ran out of steam, walked to the guard house and got a taxi. She dropped me at the hotel and headed off into the night.

What a lovely experience.

So now she is totally committed, and the next visit is going to start off at a pretty high level of intensity.

Bohol - Panglao Island

Beautiful Alona Beach - not as crowded and tourist like Boracay - cheap prices, nice people - good place to relax. Good for bring your date in there. But i really had a great time with local girls and in local bars. I also enjoyed the nice relaxing atmosphere and excellent food. If you say Philipiine food sucks - try pork adobo or fresh seafood at Opss Bar. For the food/disco a very good place. For drinking - Helmut's Place is a must. Great owner (from Germany) and nice staff in there. Beautiful island for snorkeling/diving.

Boracay

For me the number one in Philipiines. Also the most expensive one. Amazing white beach - great people to party with. I went out almost every night with guys i met in Red Coconut Hotel Bar. (By the way i stayed in this hotel and it is highly recomended- also for the cool bar staff). Again the food was very good.

We become a group of me + english, german, french, new zealand, american guys and we really had a nice time. I also met a guy from Slovakia, girls from Russia, guys from Israel, Austria. Try Summer Place disco. While it is better to bring your girl for a holiday you will not have a problem with finding one in Boracay. Summer Place is just one of many places you can find them. Be careful for LB's on your way back to the hotel. One night we even met some nice girls at a local disco and after we had a swim in the sea completely naked with them and then a great sex on the beach for free. Watch out for the happy hours at the bars - usually from 4-8 PM.

I really had a time of my life there with my new friends. We even organised a boat trip and had a big party on boat.

the bars in bauang (ba-wahng) are mostly attached to the beach resorts and attract mainly westerners. the style is similar to the smaller bars in barrio barretto, as are quality and price. i've found about half a dozen places but there might be others rep001tered around.

the poro point bars line the highway a couple km north of bauang and they have the unmistakable look of an old r&r area (wallace air station was just up the road). clientele these days is mostly filipino and they (and the girls) can get rowdy, but people are friendly and unless you get drunk and obnoxious you're unlikely to have any trouble. maybe a couple dozen bars in total, mostly very small.

nothing to get excited about if you've just come from ac or even subic, but barely an hour's drive from baguio . . . .

Most of your questions are answered there if you are prepared to do some leg work.

Don't think it is out of date because anything written about Dumaguete from 2005 will still be current - not much changes there.

Just watch out for the baklas along the Esplanade opposite What's Up. Some are quite deceptive but all are aggressive.

This is generally correct, but "dead loss" is a bit exaggerated. I've been there twice for several days. After dark there are girls waiting along the edges of Burnham Park. Once I waited an hour on the overpass from the park to downtown, and was offered service by a girl who wandered by; she spent the night. She was among the ugliest I've even been with, but not fat or anything, and this is something to note about the Ifugao population. There is a bikini bar or two in the Legarda Road area; I did not investigate take-out. And twice I've hooked up with pairs of nurses/nursing students getting drunk out of their minds in normal bars; no sex but fun; one pair took me to the (then) new Nevada Square club venue.

it may have been sensible to tell people that the hotel is in CDO given this thread covers the entire phils ex some big cities.
Its located on Valez which is the centre of the action in CDO
