I'm sure you can get a better rate. Mind you, if your trip is in October, you have plenty of time to plan. In addition, Key Master makes a lot of sense; you need to balance out where you have work (and at what time) together with what time you are setting aside for "recreation". The traffic can screw your plans royally if you haven't taken it into account. Good luck.

I say this as both places have good quality clubs on the premises where you can pull a girl straight up to your room. Girls in those place will initially ask high prices but please do not pay through the roof.

The clubs are CJ's (Mulia Hotel) and BATS (Shangri La).

The Mulia is quite close to Blok M.

Santika Premiere.

Atlet Century.

Aryaduta.

Which hotel is the best?

I can not find anything about the Aryaduta and also the Santika reports are quite old.

Only. 5 minutes to Blok M at night as is the Atlet Century Park. Both the hotels I mention here are absolutely fine on all counts and if you are only here for a night then just take the best deal.

[/QUOTE]As Cooze Hound mentioned, there are two Aryadutas: Aryaduta Suites Semanggi and Aryaduta Hotel (Kebon Sirih area?). The one in Semanggi is more like a service apartment and (to me) better located. Atlet Century would not be my first choice and if I was staying, I'd go for the Executive rooms (but I think you can get better for the same money). I don't know anyone who has stayed at the Santika Premiere. You might also want to look at Citadines (service apartment in Wahid Hasyim at the junction with Jaksa. But no mistake it's a nice little business class hotel with a nice bistro in front. Ocha and Bella) Akmani hotel (also on the same road just a bit behind Sarinah Thamrin) or Millennium Sirih (on the opposite end of Kebon Sirih compared to Aryaduta).

I haven't known the hotel before but it looks nice and has good references.

Checked in the end of April when I arrived in Jakarta. First night was the standard room which was ok, got the smoking room I wanted. The room was clean and the internet was wi-fi or wired if you choose to plug in. There was a dinner buffet for 180000rp which was not worth it in my opinion, but the food was pretty good. But for that price there are much better options.

Went down to tiga puluh around midnight and the selection was ok but prices were not worth it. Starting around 800000 st. These same women will be in the blok in a few hours at a much reduced price.

The second night I upgraded to the club room which was a much better value. The free lounge on the 14 th floor is worth the extra 40 USD because you get free appetizers and free pour hard liquor and beers. I had an internet honey come over for the second night and we enjoyed the lounge in the evening and went up for the free breakfast buffet. Great selection and fresh.

All in all I would stay again. Much more reasonably priced than the mulia and marriot or ritz. They are good if you are on an expense account. But if you want a nice hotel that won't bankrupt you, try the Le Meridien

By Arrival was asked for an upgrade to a Suite.

I think I paid less then 1 Mio Rupiah for a Suite incl. Breakfast.

I didn't check out the breakfast buffet.

Free WiFi at the lobby and in the room Internet via kabel.

Everything was clean and nice.

Only Problems:

- only 2 elevators- so sometimes some waiting time.

- the lobby is at the 1st floor and you have to walk the stairs up (about 2 floors before you reach the entrance)

- I don't know the normal room but in the Suite room the bathroom has a glass wall to the bedroom.

If you go to toilet or take a shower your gf can watch you.

Price and service was Ok.

I'm sorry you suffered but, as Blackao said, you can go either side of the stairs and take the lift from the garage. Very useful if you don't want to be seen in the lobby. Useful for both entering and leaving (I had to sneak a girl out that way while another one was waiting for me in the lobby:D).

I don't know about the suite, but the Grand Deluxe room, Deluxe etc have a roller blind so you can cover the glass (on the bedroom side - not in the bathroom) to preserve your modesty. But the glass makes for some interesting moments.;)

Breakfast is basic. But I normally take a light breakfast anyway. Normally yogurt, fruits and maybe an egg (there is an egg station).

I know a certain other member managed to get a corporate rate of 700k for the Grand Deluxe room (which is all you'll really need).:)

One of my friends was "kidnapped" by a woman in a Jakarta club, who drove him to a compound just outside the ring road, where she pulled up at the guardhouse, paid for a number of hours, got a key, drove into the garage and proceeded to violate my friend. He says this place seems to work like a drive-in, hour based, serviced luxury townhouse, designed for extramarital sex. Problem is he did not take nore where it is. Do anyone have information on such facilities?

I myself have submitted reports on this. One of the report iseven linked to the reports of distinction. There is one on Jalan M T Haryono, next to Carrefour and it's called Pondok Nirwana. There is a sign board which has PN written with an arrow mark. There are a couple in Fatmawati and a few in Kelapa Gading. Am sure other areas in Jakarta will also be having them.

Dear John, thank you so much for your response to my question on drive-in townhouses. I live in Kemang. I assume Fatmawati might be the closest. Can you remember the locations of these. I cannot find the report you mention. Maybe a link to it? Please be patient with a newbie. Peter
