Jakarta - Hotels

Stayed there 7 nights in may. Deluxe room. 6th floor. About 110US / night.

Nice room but I had to turn off the AC. It was to cold and the floor in the bathroom was like walking on ice,

Had to place the sandals outside and put them on before entry. Every girl I had in the room complained about it to be to cold. Two nights and I began to caugh. Lucky me there was a waterheater and tea in room.

I liked this hotel though it seems that Jakarta is expensive when compare to BKK.

The staff was very helpfull with any Q.

If I want just to sit and drink tea or a beer I went to the lobby bar, nice place to sit and relax, watching people.

Wifi of course and nice food, tasty ceasar sallad, with tea of course. I never used the pool because it was bad weather all the time and I had a very hectic schedule with JAD. The restaurant have nice buffets but kind of pricy. I ate both breakfast and dinnerbuffet a few days.

I never had a look around so I don't know anything about it other what I have read here.

The location is OK because it is in the middle but as always when speaking about Jakarta when going somewhere.

You have to get used to the trafficjam. Taking girls into the hotel was simple and smoth. Nobody asked anything.

A bunch of western students, waiting to checking in or out.

A couple of evenings and nights I went to Tiga Puluh Club. Its a nice club with a couple of FLs. They also have some livebands. The ladys were a bit old and I never found anyone really that I would like to have in my room. Bargain hard and they went down to 400k. All in all nice hotel, with a very nice staff, but it will be north Jakarta next time for me.

Have searched this forum but haven't really found what I am looking for. Affordable ($5-600) one month rental in central / north Jakarta. It can be an apartment / studio or a hotel room. I noticed Take Mansion but the write up said it was hard to get to.

Any suggestions? I will be in Jakarta for about a month in August, and am looking for a decent apartment / studio. Internet, A / C, cleanliness, and decent location, are all I need.

Decided to stray from my usual set of hotels (mandarin / mercure) and going with crowne plaza when I come into Jakarta next week.

Read through all crowne plaza reports and looking at google maps, it seems this hotel is far from where I usually play (manga besar, hayam wuruk). Could anyone enlighten me on the average taxi time between kota and crowne plaza? How would you rate the location?

I would go to tripadvisor for reviews, but I value you guys' opinion much more. Thanks in advance!

If you plan to go north during the day, I would recommend the TransJakarta bus. Outside rush hours it will take about 25 minutes to arrive at busstop Mangga Besar or Olimpo. Avoid the Semanggi junction when leaving the hotel by taxi. In my opinion it is better to take the Kuningan route.

The hotel itself has a discotheque, but I can't recall an FR. The hotel is located next to Plaza Semanggi. A couple of discotheques there, food courts and you might try mall-hunting. I would rate the location a 6, as to almost every mongering destination there will be a detour.

Thanks Menteng, it sounds like the location is not ideal for mongering. Definitely will look into Semanggi although I didn't have good luck in picking up mall girls before.

BTW, will you be in Jakarta this month good sir?

I will be visiting Jakarta soon (my first trip for MANY years!) The hotel that my host company want to book for me is Hotel Aryaduta Jakarta.

Jl. Prapatan 44-48

Jakarta 10110.

I have RTFF but there is little current information there.

Could any of you local guys tell me if there are opportunities for finding a 'playmate' in this area? (I believe that it is North of the centre.) or how far I may have to travel for a "little FUN."

My preference is usually to hunt the bars, coffee shops or malls rather than nightclubs as I have to be up rather early for work most days.

I am assuming that the hotel is G. F. But would appreciate confirmation.

I would be most grateful for any information, either by pm or by posting.

Downstairs you will find nightclub The Tavern with a splendid choice of girls; pro's and non pro's. Close by you will find USA president Obama's favorite shopping mall "Sarinah"; a good place for making contact with non pro's. Sarinah is situated at the Jl. Wahid Hasym. During night and evening you can find there girls and in the Jl. Jaksa, the street for bag packers. Close to Sarinah you have the Plaza Indonesia shopping mall, well-known for rendez-vous purposes. And the biggest shopping mall of Jakarta is just 50 m away from Plaza Indonesia. B. A. T. S (Bar At The Shangrila) is close by to Plaza Indonesia. Once again: Aryaduta is a good choice.

Aryaduta is a good choice in many respects. I stayed there about 2 years ago for a few weeks. Definitely GF friendly and good value for the money. Breakfasts were good and the fitness center is excellent. Rooms are fine, but nothing special. Atrium mall is about a 5 minute taxi ride away, and I found a gorgeous super-thin (less than 80lb) spinner there who became a sort-of late afternoon gf for me. She was awesome in bed, like a true GF in EVERY respect, and never asked for money. Of course, I took care of her very well. If you go to Atrium mall about 3 PM or so, you will meet some nice girls who like to hang out after school. The mall itself is one of the lower class malls in Jakarta, but I wasn't interested in the "regular kind" of shopping. In terms of location, Aryaduta is conveniently located between Kota and Blok M. Taxis to / from Blok M in the evenings won't take very long at all. The only negative (to me) was the general lack of lower-priced restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

Mid July I will stay in Jakarta Grand Kemang for several days. Is tehe anything to do in or aroud this place.

The Kemang area was pretty dead in 1992 but is much more lively now. The hotel is located south of downtown, at the beginning of the "Kemang" area, which is partly-middle-class-residential. Staying at the hotel, you'll be smack in the middle of a lot of restaurants / bars that are frequented by expats and families who live nearby, and you'll be a 10-minute taxi cab ride from Blok M, one of the main mongering areas discussed here.

Biggest downside will be the traffic if you need to get into and out of downtown during the daytime rush hours. During rush hours you might even be better off to take the Transjakarta Bus between Blok M / Pasar Raya and downtown, then take a cab between Blok M and the hotel.

Even at night it could take you 1/2 hour to get from say, Kartika Spa or Stadium Night Club (located in the northern part of Jakarta) to your hotel.

Yes the hotel is girl-friendly, in fact you'll be approached by young ladies in the lobby, even in the upstairs hallways, asking you if you'd like her to come to your room for a "massage."

As with Reports for Grand Flora, nice enough hotel, room a little small, bathroom is with a walk in shower, functional.Internet is free and they are running a promotion, which gets the basic room at about $67 / night all in.Seems an ok area, though I just got here.

I RTFF, but most of the message are about 4 or 5 star hotels I can't afford.

I do need some advice about a cheap hotel. I hope in the 300k range.

It should be in a good mongering area, of course girl friendly and accettable.

It not easy to find a nice decent hotel in Jarkata for under 300 k, I stay at the Olympic hotel last yr behind the infamous Lopasari plaza at Manga besar area walking distance to Hotel travel 350 k for a business room and 380k for deluxe is ok for budget business travler, if you want to spend a little more spark hotel for 450 k is much better, there are hotel in the area less than 300k but if you want to stay in a dump go for it.
