Tropical Bar Reports

One night, I went with my GF (who used to work at Tropical) and we were drinking Tecate Lights. At about 10 pm, all I remember is 4 meseros carrying me out to a taxi. The taxi drove us to her apartment. I was out until 4 pm the next day, waking up feeling totally drugged out. I had about $300 in my pocket and when I woke up, I saw that I had only $100. My GF told me that the meseros spiked client drinks regularly, usually when one of the girls has an ahole for a client or when someone is seriously drunk, so they can rob him. Hell, for all I know, my GF could have signaled the meseros to drug me. She said it is a powdery substance that they put in the drinks. As I have said before when dealing with Tropical meseros, don't order mixed drinks there. Just order beers but tell them that you will need them to open in front of you.

I have also experienced meseros in Tropical try to cheat me by not bringing my change or short changing me. They are the worst for this.

Just out of curiosity, were you with a girl by the name of Yamilet?

Had my first experience with a hustle attempt by an HK bartender just last month. I gave him a 500-peso note (around $25) for 1 beer and he gave me only a few dollars change. I looked at the change confused trying to process what just happened. He then pretended to also be confused and eventually gave me the correct change LOL. Have never had anything like that happen to me before down there, though I do usually pay in USA Dollars not pesos. I have been warned by Mexican-Americans who know I go down to Tijuana to try not to pay in pesos because it increases the chances they'll try to rip you off.

Not at all surprised a waiter in Tijuana would be giving the wrong change.

I specifically get $10 bills for buying fischas and usually just buy my own drinks with $1 bills. Paying with larger bills at really most bars anywhere is asking to be short changed.

Towards the end of my first Tijuana trip ran out of dollars and used pesos and later realized I'd been severely short changed several times.

These fischas getting up to $9, $10 for a mini bottle that they pound down in 5 minutes is getting kinda ridculous.

I had ordered a tacate and when it came it had a cap but the waiter made a show of removing it, like Chevy Chase in caddy shack. I remembered thinking that was strange but not enough to get my guard up. It's impossible to hear the cap release pressure with all that noise so I can see how easily they could put some shit in there. Incidentally I just felt like I had drunk 5 shots of liquor and assumed they put some kind of grain alcohol in there but who knows. I'm really glad my spidy senses made me bolt.

He puts it in his register and looks at me and nods like a thank you nod. I'm like uh, I need singles bro. Its hk. What the he'll would I give him a 20 for if I hadn't bought drinks from him. Then he wants a tip after giving me singles. No. Just no way bro. I usually make my waiter get the singles on my 1st beer to avoid this problem.

I just exchange as much as possible and get a drink with the bartender and then leave a $1 tip. No confusion, no fuss, and they sometimes use the money counting machine or have a stack set aside.

I ended up taking an Uber to the Guadalajara hospital 10 minutes from HK club and they hooked me up to an IV and injected some medicine to clean my stomach (total cost $200 USD). After that incident, I just drink straight from the can. I was light headed, dizzy, and vomiting at hotel Cascadas and pretty much spent 24 hours in bed.

You should do report it to tropical, HK management and tourist police. Do it in writing so you have we proof.

Don't want to get drugged and robbed in houses. Very bad news.

I think it was the good captain that commented back with a flip opinion about how rum and coke can do that to a guy. I always drink beer that is opened in front of me. Another point is I always have the bartender or mesaro hand me back the change which I then tip from. It establishes ground rules. Most all respect that. No longer do shots at tables as well. I want to see the bottle come off the shelf and invert. With drugs in Mexico you got to be Nancy Reagan and just say no. I feel sad and a bit disgusted with myself as I watch the dealer cranking out the stuff opposite the balcony at Azule. It a ballet of bad and I just can't turn away.

Are the chicas in tropical cheaper than HK? Since they're under the same ownership, I assume I can take a tropical girl to hotel Cascadas?

Now, even ugliest girls are asking $100 in any bar, but I normally don't care. I suggest 1400 pesos to HK girls, and 1000 1200 pesos to Tropical girls. Take it or not is their call.

You can take girls from HK and Tropical girls to Cascadas or Rizo with no problem.
