That area has a lot of daytime 'casas', especially going east towards Ave Caracas, they're a better bet.

The street scene on calle 62 as indicated on map is non-existant, that block is full of love motels, but not seedy.

Had a great long weekend last year in Medellin but the prices to go to Medellin are almost double compared to Bogota, never been there before so why not.

I speak perfect Spanish since I was born in Latin America so that's a big help I also don't pass as a gringo (I think).

Global entry is the best 100 $ you can spent as long your background is clean, safes so much time.

First day Thursday:

Got to Bogota around 2:45 pm, my roaming phone service was a POS, took an uber to my hotel, since I'm a mainly casa guy decided to stay in Chapinero, stayed at hotel Normandy, no elevator clean and simple and only 15 $ a night or 60,000 cop, the hotel was ok.

To remedy this situation I submit the following:

Last week I was in Bogota, stayed at Hotel Casa de Guillermo near CL. 72 and Ave. Caracas. I found the place through the Booking site, seemed like a decent cost-effective option, close to the 72 Transmilenium station, Chile Financial Center. Also, Bogota Map indicated casa Trantra Spa on the opposite side of the street down one block.

Hotel Guillermo was OK, the room was a bit cramped, and shower curtain had a gap at bottom that allowed water to seep onto bathroom floor, main complaints. I walked around the block before midnight, the streets were empty, did not feel safe, but daytime is safe. Nearby are many restaurant food options, including a produce market.

I can confirm that Tantra Spa is still in business. There was a lady on the corner of Cra. 20 a and CL. 72 passing out flyers for the Spa, and she indicated it was a white door entrance. At the white door, I rang the door bell a few times and nothing happened, but the door was unlocked so I went in and up the stairs. Business was in service and there were several ladies working there. It's a decent place.

Bogota map also indicates that Ron Con Piernas, Chicas Dos Mil, and 70 A Bar are a few blocks down, but I did not visit to see if they're in business, thou it would make this area even more attractive.

Also, a ten minute taxi ride from Guillermo Hotel is Gringo Tuesdays language exchange / night club at Vintrash. I attended, and for me it was too crowded for comfort, victim of its own success. Gringo Tuesdays is advertised as a free event but there was a 10 K cover charge, and the Club Colombia beers were 11 K (expensive by local prices, but gringos can afford).

I was presented 6-8 girls, and I chose one with a big ass. The 'massage' was. Well, she didn't know how to massage, but then again I wasn't there for that.
