Terrible Results
I remember doing a similar thing a year ago, when I took a secret video of a particularly hot young lady.
Back in the mid-1980 in AC, tried out my new VHS video cam.
1. My white pimply ass glowed in the low light, not a pretty sight.
2. Petite girl was lost under the big white American. I was 6'3", 220 lbs and in pretty good shape. All you could see of the girl was her hands and feet, she was that small.
3. Cured my porn movie making ambitions.

Airport
I forgot to ask this, have searched the forum and looked at the separate Suvarbnabhumi airport thread but there is no info on the new rail link from the airport.
I am landing late and on my previous 2 visits I just got a cab from the airport but I understand there is now a rail link.
Researching the route (http://www.bangkokairporttrain.com/time-table-route.html) the last stop on the rail link is the Phaya Thai station on the BTS (30 mins to get there and trains run about every 20 mins I think) (http://www.bts.co.th/en/map.asp) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suvarnabhumi_Airport#Ground_transportation) . From there it is just a few stops to Asok and Grand Millenium.
Is this the fastest way or is cabbing still the best option?
To those who are light on luggage the airport rail link to Phaya Thai has apparently a promotional fare of just 15baht till the end of 2010.
Thanks

The Rail link sounds great, but It will end up as a red herring, reason being Is from the Airport you either have to get the Express or City trains, the Express will stop at Makkasan station, problem here Is that If you got luggage you got to walk 300m or so to the MRT or catch a Taxi, If your arriving late then It will be easier to jump In a metered taxi at the Airport, I think the only time the train will make sense Is If your travelling light at rush hour.
Hi Corne,
Be careful not to step inside the wrong bar, since there are some ladyboy bars as well (Casanova, Cascade, Obsession and Temptations). Ladyboys are also called Katoey.

if you arrive very late at night and/or have lots of luggage, a taxi would be much quicker (less traffic congestion) and convenient. if you have very little luggage and you arrive during the daytime, the airport to city line is a good cheap option. if you're staying in the nana area, the airport to playa thai then connect with bts seems to be the best route.
here's a recent "reader's" comment about the airport to city line that was posted on the bangkok post. according to the writer, it's easier to use if you're going to the airport and less convenient for arrivals.
===
i took the city line last friday and found it to be cheap (30-odd baht skytrain + 15 baht city line) and relatively timely (30 minutes from saphan taksin to phya thai and another 40 minutes to the airport). given that i left in the middle of an almighty storm, a taxi could have taken over an hour at 350 baht+, and so it was the weather that swayed my decision.
as said already, the city line trains are not built for luggage and i'd be interested to hear if the express trains do indeed have different set up with more luggage space. i also had only one light case, so did not experience the trolley issue, but that is certainly of concern for future trips when i could well be carrying a larger full case + additional laptop bag.
the only pain for me was on arrival at the airport, where there are only a few elevators connecting the floors. so on the lower floor where the train arrives the elevators quickly filled up, leaving a large group jostling in front of the doors to be sure of a place on the next trip. so i took the escalators... great idea. these long escalators slowly take you to the next floor, where you then have to double-back on yourself to the start of the next escalator and so on up 4 floors. of course, this is thailand and people stand all over the escalators (keep to the right!!!) or have a trolley, making it impossible to speed this up. this tactic of slowing your exit down works ok in paragon, but is frustrating in an airport - so if you are in a hurry, also factor an additional 5 minutes to get from the lower floor to departures!!
on arriving back in bangkok, now with wife and more baggage, the thought of going on the train, then bts and then taxi v just getting in a taxi was too much. sad, but i don't think i'll ever use it on arrival.

The unknown level of English should likely make trying to put something together very interesting.

Well, unless you're looking for a girlfriend then there should not be any problems...
Fuck her, Pay her and Flee.... that's it. No English needed and my thai should be sufficient for this short type of encounters.

And did they all say that they like you so much that they will let you do their ass?

English needed to set up the meet I imagine. Your Thai is probably not representative. :)
