I fount it mentioned here: [URL]http://wikitravel.org/en/Tijuana/Zona_Norte[/URL], with a blurb that does read like it was written by the owners.

As noted in the previous discussion, I'm not interested in only a massage. I hear what you are saying about Tijuana and clubs, I was just looking for an alternative while still having access to legalized prostitution.

I also don't want to venture into uncharted territory, so I guess I'll just give HK a go.

Huge lot and you pay the same price for 24 hours as behind JIB charges for 8 hours. Is about 3 minutes extra walk to the border.

The place is in a decent neighborhood, near Plaza Rio, according to their web site. So, go. I await your report.

The parking lot is fenced 360 degrees with foot patrol at night providing a safe environment to take a nap in your car at 3 am if you needed to. The bathrooms were maintained. They have to surrender the parking lot in 2 months or so.

Why would you come on here with an overly dramatic plea for redemption on an anonymous puta board? First of all, maybe you did say that things would get worse in Tijuana. It's not like you really stood out on a limb and made a shocking, bold prediction. There were really only two possibilities: things get worse or things get better. You chose one of only two possibilities. A monkey could have predicted the same thing with a coin flip. And to say that "EVERYONE laughed at" your thoughts at the time is nothing but a poor attempt to add drama to your plea. I don't remember your post and I don't care to go back and try to find it. But I can guarantee you 100% that no one laughed. Many posters probably ignored it. Many probably agreed. Some may have questioned it but no one "laughed. " And to come on here and boast about how your "shocking" prediction from a year ago is here now, staking claim that you are some type of Oracle of Tijuana, well, is not the most noble act. Anybody who seeks to gain attention and redemption by publically attempting to pat themselves on the back for an act they consider extraordinary but really isn't, should really consider abstaining from such pleas.

When I did my research before visiting a couple weekends ago, I came across some site that says to bring dollars instead of pesos because that's what the girls take. But after reviewing what's been posted here, it appears that they'll take either / or. It's looking to me like there's more value in using pesos. If I go back, is it safe to expect that any girl who can be rented in LZ will take pesos? Or will some turn it down and demand dollars? The two I was with a couple weeks ago (Las Chavelas / Adelita) both negotiated in dollars, so I'm wondering if they would have taken pesos if I offered. And will I be able to get away with tipping 10 pesos to anyone whom I would have otherwise tipped a dollar? Or will that be too lowball?

On another, slightly related note, I think I'll be looking for a SW or two this weekend. But I'm wondering how easy is it to get a feel for how they get down before I actually start haggling. In the bars, I think you can get a pretty good idea after sitting with them for a drink or two. But in the street? Maybe not so much. Can you take a SW into any of the puta bars? If not, are there any other bars within that block that I could take her? I want to make sure I get a girl that knows how to work it. Oh yeah, and that has flat abs too.

This is Mexico. Pesos are Mexican money. I usually tip the BG in the clubs in dollars, because it is hard to put a 10 peso coin in her panties! Pay other tips in pesos, OK. Low ball SG and they will counter. Decide on a median point. Make sure you negotiate exactly what you want and expect in the streets, because the upsell or denial will be costly in the room. Most SGs will not go to a bar on duty. You may want to try for after her hours, but few go. As always money talks and anything is possible for the right price to her. Most clubs do not allow working girls in.

Recently, the exchange rate has gotten more favorable for Americans and it is best to bring pesos. If you pay the bar in pesos, expect change in pesos. Pay in dollars, change is in dollars.

If you are a gringo, the girls' first price quote will be in dollars. If you just say "pesos?", she will struggle with the math and then requote in pesos. Better yet, I suggest you counter offer in pesos. When a bar girl quotes $80, I might counter with 1000 pesos (about $61). Usually they will accept it.

I will tip a waiter or cum boy 10 pesos and they don't complain. For the girls, I like to have paper money, so I bring a bunch of $1 bills for them. If I run out of $1 bills, I will tip the girls 20 peso notes (about $1.20).

If you don't speak Spanish, the most important thing is to learn the numbers. You can probably already count to 10, but be sure to know the hundred and thousand concepts:
One hundred: cien
Two hundred: doscientos
One thousand: mil
Two thousand: dosmil

Everybody will accept pesos.

Personally, I get the vibe that the locals prefer pesos. 1,000 pesos feels like a lot of money, whereas $80 doesn't feel as rewarding. I have had girls flat out refuse $60 like a personal insult, yet graciously accepted 800 pesos. Probably because they have been on a $60/700 p for about a decade.

In the alley, 400 pesos seems to be the magic number for great unrushed service. But $30 puts you in the borderline cheapo category that may trigger upselling in the rooms or poor attitude. From my experience at least.
