Just arrived yesterday to SD. Slow Monday. The de SW I saw were awful. Fat, ugly, old, or skinny with that ex-pregnant belly pooping out.

Tried a few bars on ZC with no luck. Bio, Sabina bar, Café de Toi (closed). Nothing there. I was just trying to get a semipro with my native Spanish. But screw that. Check out the Asador del Palenque for good food near your hotel. It's on the opposite side of Independencia from Villar Hermanos, two or three cross streets away heading toward the Jaragua, past hotel Riazor and Manolos restaurant. The Jaragua's' back wall faces it. Some of the old timers on here will know the place as the former location of Lapsus / Tabu. It's hard to miss because of the lighted sign right on the road and the people sitting at tables. Good prices for food and drinks, much better than Manolo's. Fresh meat and seafood of every kind is charcoal grilled to order.

I took a flight on Thursday January first to Santo Domingo. My plan was to take a bus and go straight to Puerto Plata. A woman I was chatting on Skype long time insisted to meet me at airport. I decided to meet her at airport and decide on our way to Santo Domingo. It was New Year and everything was closed I could not exchange any money. Then I realized that I don't have any minutes on my phone and claro was also closed. Luckily I found her and took taxi. I decided to take the bus and maybe meet her again on my way back home. I took Caribe bus before and wanted to try metro this time. It was better choice faster and I was in Puerto Plata after 3 ½ hours. Only problem with metro they don't give you a ticket for your suite case and I took a seat next to window to watch it all the time even all my valuables were with me. I called a furnished apartment place recommended for 1 bedroom. I was told that he had only a studio available right now. I said OK. I did not want to stay in hotel Lomar this time. Studio is very small cheap but no AC. I told the owner that I will stay here but I want to move to 1 bedroom apartment as soon as one available. I will move to 1 bedroom next week. This is my first night. I would not recommend studio and tell my opinion later for 1 bedroom apartment after I spend the night there. I made an arrangement with a lady from tagged to meet tomorrow night and let's see how thinks will work out.
