Do you happen to know any decent motels in the area?
According to the Lonely Planet (!), the Malaysia Hotel in Soi Ngam Du Phli is a short-time place. Otherwise just ask the taxi for โรงแรมม่านรูด (roongraem maan ruut).
When I’m in BKK I usually drive by Lumni park many time a day and have never seen any FL outside the park in the daytime though I’ve never gone in.
Yes, they're there only at night, on the outside of the park along the road. "Waiting for the bus."

Also your ya-ba radar and your pimp thug boyfriend radar.
The place is called "Vasu Exchange" located at the corner of Soi 7/1 and Sukhumvit Road. I got 30.08 B for each USD, whereas the best rate among all other shops was 29.70 B.
The entrance of the place is on Sukhumvit. The place looks like closed. Just push the door and go in.

Can anyone suggest the best Barber shop in the Sukhumvit Area? One which pampers you and makes you feel good even though you go there for a facial / manicure / pedicure / haircut only and no massage?
I have stayed in the china town area. I've never seen any Freelancers there. Or maybe i am just not aware of how they operate in this area, guess they'll be more ''undercover''. Do u mean the small sidestreets of yaowarat, like the one with texas cafe massage?
What does one have to look out for to spot those Freelancers? and how to approach?
Sorry if these are obvious questions for you veterans, but i don't have much experience with the streetscene. I'd love to indulge in these activities cuz it seems more exciting than the safe mp's and bars.
The freelancers are older milfies, many walk with sun-umbrellas. They don't just stand-around, they patrol an area and will shorten their patrol if they think you are interested. In other words, they start walking back and forth in front of you.
Otherwise, it is the same approach. Make eye contact, smile, see what happens.
I've read about the check bin scam in Deja Vu before and last night it happend to me to. They charge you 2 or 3 times as many lady drinks as you buy and no use in putting up an arguement.
Stay away.
Start signing your chits. On the back make a note of the amount and place your signature.
Three things happen: One, you catch the top-ups right away. Two, you are better able to sum your drinks on your own. Three, they know you are in the know and will be less likely to f with you.
Otherwise, pay the tab and then go to the tourist police (if it is worth it to you). The TP actually can help you.

In daytime 11a-5ish, there are groups that hang out in the back alleys of Soi Texas.
Secondly. Just down the street on Yarowat moving away from the BTS next to a clock store, there is a "hotel" with a dark staircase with alot(5-15) Chinese hanging out.
The other spot is on Sarang Sawat coming near the traffic circle. This area is full of alot of uglies. But sometimes a 20s cutie will be camped out there.
At night, that area has alot of women, in the range of 0(fat-old-gross) to 7.
Sprite,
If you are a first timer and interested in go-go bars, you should try Nana Entertainment Plaza (Sukhumvit soi 4) or Soi Cowboy (soi 19). As for avoiding, I suggest avoiding Patpong area (tourist trap). If you don't have a hotel already, try to get one on Sukhumvit - many of them there. You must visit Gullivers on Soi 5 and Beergarden on Soi 7 for freelancers during day time. Also try Bangkok Beat on Soi 7.1 for night time freelancer pick ups. PM me if you want more info. First time in BKK - you will be BEYOND a kid ina candy store.
Cheers.
Crypton
Thanks Crypton for the reply. I tried to PM you but your inbox is full.
Anyways, from my readings in here, I already know that NEP and SC are the places to go and to avoid Patpong like the plague, but any specific bars/gogos that I should visit in NEP/SC? Also, you mentioned to get a hotel in Sukhumvit, but any particular ones you would recommend?
Thanks again.
Cheers.
I may have responded to the wrong quote?
But in sukhumvit you got nana hotel across from nana plaza and you have lots of girls in the parking lot there that will go lt or st.
So you got the girls and hotel right there.
There is another one right across the street. Dynasty.
So it also depends on you budget
I just found some nice hotels on soi 11. But avoid ambassador hotel they jack you up if you bring extra friends to the room they charge per person. And they act as if they are girl friendly by having a nice disco in the basement?
I stayed president palace and grand president lately.
They did check ids of extra girls I brought to room as will nana but did not add a joiner fee?
Some hotels want you to play 500 to 1000 baht for each additional person and they do not give extra towels or extra breakfast.
Check out the stickman web site or the bankok tonight site for girl friendly hotels or under hotels in this web site.

Patpong can be plenty of fun, just don't go to any upstairs "show" bar (Kangaroo is OK if you like a rather filthy BJ).

Maybe you don't realise how small these places are. You can do a complete circuit of both places in about 10 minutes each. Just go have a walk around. A bar may be great one night and a downer the next, depends on their business and your mood and who happens to catch your eye.

Just ignore the touts, the package tourists, late night ladyboys, and the tuk tuk & taxi drivers who stand on the street. It's an entertaining 3+ Ring Circus -- much different than Bangkok's other entertainment districts.
A few Fon Tok suggestions for places to go in Patpong ...
Go-Go Bars: Electric Blue, Bada Bing, Spanky's 3
Lounge Bars with dancers: Safari (some pretty girls, old rock music), Black Pagoda (upstairs near Foodland)
Music: Twilo (hip band and disco / good for pretty freelancers late night); Radio City; there's also some good open air spots with music (and girls)
Food: Madrid Bar (Thai, Western, Pizza), Derby King (Thai)
Beer Bars: Cleo Bar (next to SOL -- cheap drinks, a few nice girls -- you can check out the SOL girls from here)
Bars with girls: Cosmo's, Crown Royal
BJ: Star of Light (there are some new young girls working there)
Short time Hotel: Strand Inn
Soapie: Jc Infinity (in the alley across from the new Meridian Hotel)

They are nice, cute, flirtatious and playful. An enjoyable time.
As a first time visitor to bbk have a few ??
1.What happens when the go-go's(soi cowboy)close at 2am. Is there any other place to go after 2am and get some action.
2. If I'm staying at soi 11 or soi 15 is it safe to take a girl from soi cowboy and walk to the hotel or do you take a cab? (its just a 10 min walk but I donno if its safe?)
Any info will be appreciated.
Hi,
Touch base around 5PM and my transfer fligt leaves around 2AM, so I have 7 hours including show up time.
Is there any pick-up places close to the airport were u can have some fun.
Thanks in advance
30.08 is a great rate right now. Super Rich, a high-volume shop that usually has the best rates, is at 30.02. But it takes a bit of a hike to get out there (near Central World).
