Guess why Manathan was raided this weekend
Most likely because we have a valued guest visiting our town. Or should I say HIS town.
"Most of Xintiandi's south block has been shut down until around 1 pm today for "electrical maintenance. " Most of the office buildings in the complex have also been given a day off (eeyyy), and some shops might remain closed throughout the day. But at least the restaurants should be open again in time for a late lunch. Just keep that in mind if you're planning to stop by.
You may also have noticed heightened security on the metro and a lot more traffic today. We can only speculate which recently feted head of state is visiting our fair city to warrant such disruption to our lunch plans. ".

And yes Xijinping was seen walking the streets of Xintiandi.
Now with the mayor and party chiefs being his former assistants, he has finally taken controle of this nice city from the Jiang Zemin gang.
Lets hope this trip marks the end of the Shanghai siege!
Walked by Manhattan tonight
Still shut. About 15 Viet ladies turned into streetwalkers on that road. Could probably cut a good deal just to get them out of the cold, but not my night. A number of them relocated to The Spot, and Judy's seemed to be going strong. We'll see what life is like after Pres Xi hits the road.
Manhattan. Another inpretation
I was also there last Saturday night.
When I arrived in the area I saw a black police SUV with its lights flashing, parked across the street from Manhattan. Watching the action. It just made me a little nervous that they were showing they knew what was transpiring.
I opted to conduct business at Judy's instead. And had a great session with one of the nice Viets there.
Red Rider.
Another interpretation of the police SUV with flashing lights out front: Friendly notice that girls with overstayed visas or people with other types of problems should stay away before a later check. Might be wishful thinking, but it seems too early to judge the outcome of all this.
