Are there only a 'few' big-spenders in AC every year? Or 'tons'? I would hazard a guess that Bionic is right (as I've met many of them in AC; not to mention all the Koreans driving up prices).

I'm guilty sometimes also. I on occasion just offer a FL more than she's worth, to eliminate the haggle. To me, sometimes the haggle is fun, other times just not worth it. Its very easy to offer her 500 over the going rate. I'm guilty with tipping also (hard to believe, huh). I only tip 50 for jeep / tryke, which is damned small. However any tipping is out of the norm there. I'm freely admitting guilt here. When I push my western custom on them, they get used to it and come to expect it from other westerners (but not from their own). Everytime one of us overpays or tips (unexpected items in the culture) , we drive up prices. When thousands do it, the locals see it clearly, and become accustomed to it.

Bar owners only raise prices when they think they can get away with it. They saw the influx of big spenders buying more LD's and hearing stories of tipping from the girls and mamas.

We're not going to convince the big-spenders not to overpay. To each his own, but be prepared to pay more later.

10-20 years ago prices in AC were very cheap compared to today. But you did not see many Koreans around. Today with much higher prices you see a ton of Koreans. Why? Because Korea is a much richer country today and their currency has more value than it had 10 years ago. As a result Koreans now have a lot more excess spending power and they are out to have a good time. Why not? They consider the PI a bargain. This is the same economic situation the West enjoyed for over a hundred years. Now if Western Europe and the USA got their economic houses in order, good luck on that one, perhaps their economies would grow at a faster pace and their currencies would appreciate in value. But I see the continued devaluation of Western Currencies over the foreseeable future as Western Governments try to pay off their debts by printing more paper money. What does this tell you? In the aggregate we are getting poorer.

I remember the good times in Rio back in the 90's. Man it was good! But then the Brazilian economy started to grow. First prices went up in local currency terms, not a big deal, but then in the '00's, the exchange rate turned in their favor. As a result, Rio and Sao Paula are now very expensive, but the girls are still just as hot.

I predict that in 10 years the average EWR in AC will be 4000p or more. There is nothing we can do about it. IMHO, the only thing that can stop the price inflation would be a worldwide depression or if North Korea nukes South Korea and Japan. But if a major depression or some unforeseen political catastrophe were to occur, then demand side resources and spending ability would be severely constrained and many punters if not most, would not be able to afford a trip to Asia.

Me, I plan to shag and keep on shagging no matter what until I can't afford it any more or my dick falls off, whichever comes first. But seriously, I know there are some that are at their budgetary limits right now. You guys still have options. You can still get laid in AC for 1000p, just not on Fields. You can also cut back on frequency and see the girls less often. You can make arrangements to see the girls when they are not working for significantly less money. And lastly you can always get a girlfriend or two or three and not pay.

Complaining about the situation and blaming other punters is futile.

There is no comparison between Thailand now and 10 years ago. There are now very few 18-22 year olds in the premium go-go bars in Pattaya and BKK and the price they demand for ST and LT is very high. The average girl / hag in a regular bar beer is probably in her late 20s and of dubious quality. Obviously general affluence and the state of the economy is the main factor at play here and of course many girls have more career choices than they did 10 years ago. Nowadays if a poor family can survive off the earnings of a girl who is considered the 'runt' of the family they will allow her better looking sister (the stronger gene) to get a college education, a good career and possibly find a decent husband. So the girls left to work in the bars will eventually be the runts of the family litter. Be warned, it doesn't always follow that the quality of the girls remains high as prices rise.

Luckily the deterioration in overall standards will not affect the more erudite and savvy members of the board who will adapt and work out how to get quality girls at still affordable prices elsewhere. But the lazy mongers, the cursed 'one week millionaires', who want it all on a plate because they have the 'cash to splash' will find themselves in an increasingly small pond competing for fewer and fewer pieces of top notch pussy. Well, guys, you only have yourselves to blame.

I actually hold the view that the future for AC as a mongering destination is fairly bleak anyway due mainly to the expansion of Clark airport which is destined to become the 2nd airport of Manila. Young vacationers and backpacker types, and by that I include Western women, are starting to arrive at Clark in order to explore the Philippines and many of them overnight in AC staying at the hotels on Fields Av and along Perimeter. This initial trickle of non-mongering tourists will soon become a flood and when it does the whole nature of AC will rapidly change. In ten years time the average price of an EWR may be 4000. But will the AC we currently know and love still exist? I think not.

There are other poor countries. Laos and Cambodia spring to mind. Which might emerge as new mongering locations. I'm not confident as the whole AC thing evolved through the huge US military presence at Subic at Clark, and that had decades and hundreds of thousands of cashed up servicemen.

The LT rate in Cambodia and Laos is ALREADY higher than it is in AC for comparable quality, so knock those off your list right now.

Clark is a bit far from manila for it to be used by anyone that needs to be in manila for anything.

BTW the average Korean is worse off now then they were ten years ago. Something like half of new hires out of university are on temporary contract and making an average of 6 US dollars an hour. Rent has gone through the roof. The currency isn't so strong either. The Korean won has lost 21. 35% against the Philippines pesos in the last decade. 1000 won gets you less local currency now than it did 10 years ago. A third of college graduates have no job, aren't in further schooling and have no prospects. Average national pay is WAY lower than it is in the US or Japan.

It's way too easy to blame Koreans, especially when you have western guys on this board bragging about all the money they waste.

The Japanese yen is currently through the roof, yet Japanese visitors to AC are DOWN over past years. There are other things at play.

Note too that Japanese and Korean guys don't tip, ever, for anything.
