You will be harassed by street vendors, shoe-shine kids, agressive pros, change guys, etc. The best way to deal with all of them is to smile and simply say "No Gracias". Even if they are persistent they will eventually back off if you keep chanting "no gracias." No need to be an ass to anyone there. You will find that (most) are some of the nicest people you will every meet. To cop an attitude or to get ugly with them just makes you look tacky.

Well, at least from the chicas perspective. Most of them seem flattered that men are traveling half-way around the world to come to their island and seek them out (to pay for their wares). I would think that most of them are aware that they are attractive (especially if one compare herself to other chicas in terms of how sought after she is) and I think this is a big ego boost. Even the hustlers with the fitted-ball caps and hip-hop gear walk around like they've "got it going on" (and most of they probably do; some of them get lots of business from foreigners looking for "diamonds in the rough" (A*K*A* "semi or non-pros).

I've especially noted how proud the Haitians are despite their circumstances. In my newbie days when I would call ahead via SKYPE to have my tota on stand-by, I talked to one Haitiana with a 3yr old who's father was Dominican. She would always have her son repeat the word "Haitiano" to signify that she preferred him to identify with his Haitian roots. Even the young maintenance guy at Terra Linda seems to have high self esteem of himself. Often you would see him in Classico's later in the evening dressed up in jeans, a collar shirt, and a look that says "I'm about to get me some chocha tonight", LOL.

But those are just my observations as an outsider looking in.

She left with me leaving the guy there with his 6 friends holding his wad. We went out and drank for a bit but I couldn't stand looking at this girl who was just walking sexy in high heels, low tight pants, mid-riff shirt and hair down to her ass. As we walked by El Flow holding hands through the crowd another young guy just grabbed her in an attempt to pull he away from me to talk to her. She turned her nose up at him and pulled back. I've never seen such monger nonsense in my life. But. Damn she was a stunner. She was as sweet as could be. During our conversations she told me that she thought she was ugly. I started losing faith that women like her even still roamed this earth. Anyway. All went well that night. That ass was pitch perfect. I slapped it and nearly shattered all the wine glasses in my room as it resonated on such a natural frequency. Force = Mass x Acceleration. Does any have any good driver contacts in Sosua? I'm arriving on 4/19 at POP and need a dedicated driver when necessary while I'm there. Thank you in advance, it's appreciated.

I have used and have been told the Joder is used like "You fucked up the plans by being late" or in the case above "don't fuck with me". Not fuck like the "OH FUCK!" or "let's fuck"

But then again every Spanish speaking country has their own words and ways of saying things.

Super excited to be taking my first Sosua adventure, and want to thank all you guys for all your help and insight. I hope to have nice pics and crazy stories. I figure between us 3 guys we should be able to come up with at least a couple of shots worthy of the pic gallery.

@Tempeocorto- The Cuban version of molestar is also Joder, but you are correct in your assumption of South American and Puerto Rican (I believe) Spanish. For them it is a more severe bothering or harassing. They use " fregar " like we use joder." no me Frieges " means don't bother me. Us Cubans use " Joder " quite liberaly and pluratively. We also use it like "Nada mas que te estoy jodiendo " to mean " I am only messing with you " Joder, like messing with or teasing. We also use like " you fucked me over or dooped me " like " me jodiste cuando te llevaste mi caro sin decirme " meaning " you really fucked me up, by taking my car without telling me ". The slang is eternal, for instance Cubans use the word " bicho " to mean bug or little creature, but for Puerto Ricans it means Dick, as in cock. LOL. I can understand how a gallego can get lost in it. LOL.

I had so many thoughts about this, but personally I want to stay away from the politicking and debates on this forum. This forum really should be all about exchanging info about finding p4p.

The waters are further muddied by the fact that people with low self esteem often aggressively overcompensate, for example by sexual acting out. Whether it is better to have high self esteem or low self esteem is a moot point. Most religions lean towards learning to submit the selfish ego to the greater good.

When he was in Sosua a few weeks back he visited New Garden quite often but had an apartment elsewhere. I was always surprised he had not been robbed yet.
