I was going to meet an old friend from LA for lunch the other day and he gave me directions to a bar but they were vague. He’s been lived in Thailand, about 30 minutes north of Chiang Mai, for 15 years and said he can drive to it but don’t know the street names. Well to make sure I could find it I went looking for it the night before and I got lost. While I was lost I was walking down some deserted side streets and passed this massage place. A very cute young girl was sitting outside and asked if I wanted a massage, I would have taken her up on the offer but I didn’t have time. Well I kept thinking about the place, and the girl, what if, so I got a Tuk-Tuk and went there today.
The young girl was nowhere in sight so I asked about her and was told she’d be in later but she didn’t know when. The lady that I was talking to asked if I wanted a massage, 250 for 1 hour Thai oil massage, while she was older, actually she told me later she was 46, but she looked good and had a damn great little body, I was there already so I went ahead and got a massage. This was my first time doing this in Thailand and wasn’t sure what to expect, well maybe a HJ at least.

Chiang Mai Café – I stopped in late one night and there must have been 30 girls there. One or two would come out and sing a song, then another one, then a group of 5 came out and sang and danced a choreographed number, they needed more work on that one, this went on forever and I never saw the same one twice. They were all dressed in different outfits, sexy little Go-Go like outfits. There was only one that could/did dance nice, sexy bumps and grinds, all the rest just kind of stood there and moved around a little. The one good dancer kept giving me the eye while she was up there but went to sit with another guy when she finished her number. And she is the only one that sat with someone.
Can you take these girls out? Not that I would, yea they all looked great but none of them had any kind of personality and looked like they would rather be someplace else.
Direstions - I’m not sure of the name of the street but it’s not far, I can walk to it in a few minutes, from Royal Lanna Hotel, down Loi Khro Road toward the river, it’s on the first cross street. It’s a big place with photos, of what could be the girls, around the outside.

1991 Complex – So the other night when I was lost I walked past this place, actually I was really lost and went by there maybe 3 times, and every time I went by there were 5 or 6 girls out front, they looked very nice and young. It was lit up and there was loud music playing too. The girls never said a word to me, I’m thinking this may be a local’s only place, it is off the beaten path.
Directions – Driving down Chaiyaphum Road, one-way, turn left on Chaiyapoom Lane, see photo Road Sign, it’s down a bit on the right hand side.

And there’s a little Karaoke place I found too that looks interesting. I stopped in and had a Coke, there were maybe 15 young, 18 to 22 years olds sitting around. All were dressed nice but overly sexy. I was offered a girl for 1200, I think they might have even had a place there.

I’m leaving tomorrow for Chiang Rai, quick stop in Myanmar, but will be back so any info would be great. Or if someone wants to go with me to check out 1991 Complex or the Karaoke place let me know. I think a Thai speaker would be a good thing at these places but I’m up for something new.

From Royal Lanna Hotel go toward the Old City on Loi Khro Road, turn left on Kamphaeng Din Road, past the Imperial, it's further down on the left side, I think before Sri Donchai Road.
I don't remember anything special about the looks of the place other than girls out front and I could hear the music.

There are 3 karaokes places on that street. Been there for the 15years that I know about. You must have passed the 1st one on the right. Then 1991. Further down as you make the corner is another. Directly opp 1991 is another bar that you will find a few ex-pats (old timers) but mostly Thais drinking Beer Chang or Lao Kao. Rough places all. Rough for CM anyway :-)
Girls use the hotel at the end of the street for ST.

Greed is good says becareful as could be rough area. Might take a walk down that way if it seems clear.
Don't speak Thai so that could be a real problem

Really in CM nothing is 'that rough".
Sure use your head. But in all the yrs I have been been in and around that area I have never encountered a problem

I walked around there twice and it was fine.
The first time I was in the area I was lost and wondered all around there and never felt like there was anything bad or rough around there. A couple of people even tried to help me find my way, very friendly.
The thing that is dangerous is the narrow streets and the cars and motorbikes late at night.
