You hit nail on the head! You don't have to worry about performance, energy, or theft with LaPassion girls. I've been to Sousa once and had very few problems, but it's roll of the dice.

A lot of people like Rocky's though I don't care for it that much. The food is good, but it takes a long time to come and the ambience is below par. Prices are reasonable, but they are gringo prices and not Dominican prices. Of the gringo restaurants, Morua Mai is worth checking out. There are a couple of Dominican places--one each side of the street--up near the Europa where you can get a decent meal for around 100 pesos.

Your experience clearly differs from mine, because my observation is that very few chicas as an overall percentage smoke cigarettes. One possibility is that the ones who smoke don't target me. Another is that the ones who do smoke targeted you. In any case, I suspect that chicas who smoke are less likely to provide exceptional service. Maybe I am wrong. I would welcome other peoples opinion on what proportion of chicas smoke and whether smoking chicas have any other performance characteristics.

Also I should add that local food products are relatively cheap, but imported items cost much more (this also applies to cosmetics, toothpaste, camera films, anything like that). A beer is about 40 pesos in the supermarket vs about 80 pesos or more in a bar. A gallon of water is also, I think, about 40 pesos. The Gatorade will cost you a lot, I am sure, because it is not a native product of the DR and not something that Dominicans would buy.

Does anyone know how much a taxi (not a motorcycle) would cost to get from Hotel Voramar to La Passions? I'm not sure how far apart they are. Also is it best to pay for taxis in pesos or American dollars?

A taxiride within sosua costs 50 peses and you should pay in pesos. The cabride from the voramar to la passion will take rond about 1 minute as they are close to eachother. When i was there the last time i usually walked the distance. To walk will take you round about 15 minutes.

My best session i had in sosua always were with passions girls. All the girls i had, had lot`s of energy and were eager to please. I have never had a problem with a girl from la passion what so ever.
Well i usually set up my meetings with passions girls after 1 am in the morning (during the week) when the place was already shut down, so i never paid a bar fine.
I also got some phonenumbers and i hooked up with them on their day off and we went to the beach together....

Before I traveled to Sosua for the first time I had heard all sorts of great things about Passions. It seemed to be a mainstay for many mongers who post here. So, when I arrived it was one of my first stops.

What a disappointment! I walked to the opposite end of town from where the beach is to find this little outside bar with a few very average Domincanas sitting around waiting for their next go-round. This was the famous Passions? They were all friendly and smiley in a very "professional" way. But then I asked for the prices: to take a girl to one of the rooms....the salida....and the price for the girl to go out + the stated expectation of a propina! Damn. I think it was a play-package between 3000 -4000 pesos ($100 - $130 USD). Don't get me wrong. I'm no broke-ass punk. I have the money. But WTF. I'm in the Dominican Republic. A barmaid gets paid $3000 pesos/week! Maybe! The economy is different. I'm not going to compare prices in the DR with prices in the U.S. and say...."Oh, that's not so much..."

Anyway, I finished my cerveza, said my polite goodbyes to Passions and walked back to the beach, where I found a cute little skinny Haitiana honey for 500 ST. Bingo! We hooked up 3X during my 2 week stay, each time for 500, each time totally hot and satisfying. On the beach, on the streets, during the day, in the clubs at night, there was always something strange, exotic and more interesting to play with than the girls I had seen sitting around waiting for a tourist at Passions. I always paid my amigas 1000 or less for ST and if she would ask for more afterwards (a common tendency), I'd just say "no". No problem.

Some guys enjoy having the game all set up for them, like at Passions, or even more so at Black Beards in POP. I prefer the hunt, the risk, the play....

Like I said, different strokes for different folks. No judgement.

I have my tentative itinerary together now and I wanted to get some feedback from the experienced mongers out there. I realize that everybody's tastes are different, but any constructive criticisism will be appreciated.

I plan on arriving on a Wednesday and staying at the Hotel Voramar in one of their apartments. I will try my luck at the Hotel, the nearby casino (Playa Chiquita I believe), La Passions, and maybe the streets. I will leave Saturday for Blackbeards where I will stay until Wednesday and then head back home.

My spanish is next to nothing, thus the reason for BlackBeards, however I would like to try my luck in Sosua as well. What do you think?

The best thing about the DR is the ability to pick up semi pros and regular chicas who are hard up for money. I was introduced to passions on my first trip to the DR but something about paying $30/40 for a hand job turned me off. Also I didnt hear too many thrilling stories about sessions from other guys.
Most of the bars in sosua are lame. You will get tired of chicas hitting you up for drinks. Latinos seems to be the most popular but after two nights of tweek music you'll want to do your business in the daytime. Get a phrase book and hit the streets.

You will need a moto just about everywhere you would want to go. As far as taking a taxi the only ones I know of that you can telephone are the tourist cabs. That will get quite expensive. I think a hotel more centrally located would be much better.

New Garden Hotel is centrally located and you can walk anywhere you would want to go. Another choice is Club Residencial although not as close to the action as New Garden. Club R has one bedroom apts. If money is no object on the high end of the scale would be Casa Cayena. These are my favorite choices.

I really think you will have a much better time if you can walk the town. Sosua is a small town and it will take an half of day to learn the layout.

I stayed at Casa Cayena, it's cheaper than Club Residential. It's on a quiet street. Theres a girl working there that has her own apartment or something. Just a little down the laundrymat. She okay looking but the service was rushed. I would'nt recommend seeing her.

I took a look a casa cayena when I was shopping around for long term digs. I didnt see any rooms but the lay out of the place was weird. It seemed a little bit too busy for my taste.
The new garden hotel will serve your needs quite well. Eventhough alot of us unsavory types stay there it remains pretty mellow/low key. One night there was a group of young guys making noise late at night and I saw wilfried the manager drilling them. This is the kind of place I like. You party but you respect other people. Bring the $45 in cash and you cant go wrong at new garden.
If you are there longer than a week do club residencial. Either one would work quite well.

I have cancelled my reservation at Voramar. I realize that the Dominican Republic is 3rd world, however I still get nervous making reservations with some of these hotels at times. I intially made the reservation with Hotel Voramar, then called to confirm. I was told all was good; then the next day I get an email saying they no longer have any apartments available for me. I read somewhere that Hotel Europa and New Garden have reservation issues as well. I will try Club Residencial next and see how that goes.

I would like to be able to bring in 2 chicas overnight into my room without a problem. I would also like to be able to bring in Haitian girls (who may not have their cedula) without problem. Any suggestions?

I stayed at Casa Cayena for a week. It isn't busy. There are a few guests there. There are also a lot of regular tourists there. A few mongers though. It comes with a free breakfast, but the rates are 45-55. I don't remember what I paid. It seemed like there were very few people using the pool. The place seems a little bit run down, but so are the other hotels.
