The Hyatt Regency is a lot cheaper and a bit closer to Shinjuku station. S[/QUOTE]I have resided / worked near both of these areas. I can tell you from Shinjuku Station to the next closest station to that area will be just under 45 minutes. If you walk from the station to Yoshiwara, you need to add another 13 minutes of walking to the area. A taxi will take about 3 minutes. A bus will take about 5 minutes + waiting time. You could always say that you wanted to get a cheap tour of the city by taking one of the buses in the local neighborhoods and it took you further than you'd expected. Using GPS threw you off too (wasn't accurate). Honestly, these bus routes can be difficult for us whom don't speak Japanese (finding the right stop / bus #/ direction, etc). When you leave the Soap, they usually will get a taxi back for you to the station. Same for going to the Soap if you use the information cafe, but they are in that area anyway, so you'd pretty much already be there. Also consider a 10 to 20 minute wait for the girl to arrive after talk to the doorman and they sit you down.
