All these inflated service charges are generally quoted by birds in the so called luxury and ultraluxury spas unless a bird is really hyped by mongers and is hard to get. The clientele in such spas probably just wants to have a good time and does not care about the small change for the rubbish service he is getting. So as mongers who want value for money we have no option but negotiate and use all tactics to get a fair deal. High charges just do not equate to great service. And it is getting harder by the day to make birds to act reasonable as they are willing to wait for the next desperate client who will make it worth the wait.

Yes that behavior by reception guy is strange, especially showing the lineup to a select few maybe at the management request or it could have been someone from LE.
