When you're in some of these places with the tiered pricing, take a good look at some of the "high level" girls. Some of them aren't very attractive at all. And some of the "regular girls" look a lot better. Sure, beauty is subjective, but at some point you can't deny the trend.

Could it be that some of these girls are dating management or simply want to live off of lady drinks and salary? There was a girl in one bar I tried to take out for 2 days straight before a waitress told me she was the papasan's boyfriend. Some other girls have told me they have told guys who were drunk, smelly or otherwise disgusting that they were on their period. One girl had an old cherry girl card. Said I was her fifth. But she told me when she didn't want to go out with a guy, especially Koreans for some reason, she would use it as an excuse. I guess anything is possible.

I bagged one of those 3000 php girls from Atlantis after she got off work once and she seemed to think it was granted totally at random, even though she was one of them! When I asked some others why their bar fines were so high, they usually say they are "models," "special dancers," or something like that, LOL. This one was pretty honest though. What about the stakes people play there? I did wrote them an email a week back in time, with no replay, was hoping any of you might know something.

Some nights it's low stakes and some of the nights it's 4k pesos buy in with additional buys available. Also, always cash games going on. Starts around 6pm. It's usually a mix of locals and tourists.

Wow. Then I have been REALLY overpaying. Yeh, I am a seasoned traveler but am completely new to the PI so I sort of assumed that things were done similar to the LOS where you pay a BF but also pay the lady for ST or LT. That would explain the reactions I've been getting: one lady in particular seemed stunned that I gave her 2,200 pesos as she was leaving. But of course she didn't say that it wasn't the norm.

Well at least I can keep that in mind if I ever return to the PI. Heading back to the LOS (Pattaya) on Monday for the rest of my Asian trip. Filipinas are OK but I have to say that I like the scene in Thailand a lot better.

She is yours till the next day, and a tip was exactly that. A tip, ie a volunteered gratuity for services rendered above and beyond expectations.

However in AC these days, things have changed.

This is the general rule of thumb now as advised recently by a foreigner 'manager friend' at one of the larger bars in AC:

A barfine now generally means ST, or 3 hours, or until you pop, depending on mostly your luck of the draw and how you negotiate during the 'interview'.

If the girl stays with you LT, it is customary now to 'tip' her depending on how long she stays. I have been told by the 'manager friend' that if you BF her at say midnight and she stays with you till noon the next day and provides you with GFE, multiple pops, etc. Etc, that a 'tip' of PHP 1000 would not be unfair. Therefore, if she leaves at 9 am, a tip of PHP 500, and if she leaves at 6 am, just trike money would suffice.

I stayed in AC for several weeks over the summer, took out plenty of barfines from probably 12 different bars, didn't have a single ST, no runners, not one tip given, not one tip requested, not one complaint received. One single girl left at 8 am to be with her kid, which was fine because I already got 3 pops. The rest I practically had to kick out.

I suspect it's like anywhere. When you walk into a hot toc in Vietnam for a blowjob and throw the normal amount down and give the normal tip you have no problems. Guys going in blind and asking "how much is it?" get hit with as much as they think they can sucker them out of.

Same with the Nigerian touts in Japan who seem to be great at helping fools part with their money. Carry yourself like a man and you won't even be approached by these people.

Same with beggar kids in Manila, who don't even approach me but are all over the next foreigner with a twinkle in his eye.
