For those of you familiar with the meme this needs no introduction, but essentially Bad Luck Brian is a guy who gets screwed (metaphorically not literally) when the wind blows too fast. And off late, I've been the Bad Luck Brian.

On 2-Jan I decided with much aplomb that I shall break the jinx that was 2013 and get rid of the dry spell. Much to my chagrin the SP I got a reference of from the forum was contacted and things were fixed. Reached the destination, got directed to the place (which admittedly made me fear for my safety a few times, straight out of the movies) and the girl in question was identified. And the deed done. So far so good. The spell was broken, a relief obtained and hell yeah. 2014. Carpe Diem has happened.

Now here's the sad part, I come out following the same lines of filth that I followed in, and lo-behold, my car. Gone. Whooop. Vanished. No sign of it. So I call the cops, who ask me to go check at the nearby police station to see if it has been towed for wrong parking. I walk to the police station and much to my disappointment the car is not there, some calls are made and it is concluded the car has been whacked. The cops were helpful in filing the report, but it appears I will have to wait 6months before the insurance company pays up (3months from the cops to get a untraceable report and 3months from the insurance company 'cooling' off period). The only bright side to this whole story was that I had guilt pangs on the car when I'd bought it and in a way am relieved that its gone.
