re: the krabi hotel. i've been in there on and off for a few years. takeout is available, but the bar fine is expensive. it's 2000 baht early and 1200 later (after 11:30, i think). most of the women there do not speak english, so your thai would need to be good, and you'd have to make sure you had a clear [i]service agreement [/i] before paying the bar fine.

i stopped in there a few nights ago and there were several very pretty women working. the "flower for singing" thing is a waste of money but that is the best option to get the attention of a woman of choice. the girls work on you hard for the flowers as that's how they make money. usually, i just get a little drunk, listen to the pretty birds sing, and wander on to do something else.

the are many karaoke places rep001tered around krabi town outside of the downtown tourist area, but they are mainly for thai clientele.

Based on Mongi Max's post I was able to find the Karaoke place last summer. When I was in there the girls said that they don't go out. I asked where I might find girls that do go out and was told that about 3km south of there I should check a place called THA on the same side of the road. I did so and ended up with one of the girls upstairs in the bedrooms.

Earlier this month I was back in Khao Lak and THA is still around. This time there were about 5 girls during the start of the week but only 2 left by the end as the others went home for Songkran. The BF is 500 baht and the girls wouldn't go below 1500 for ST. Also, the girls don't always carry condoms so be sure to bring your own. About 300m south on the opposite side of the road there is a short time place. 500 baht w/o A/C and 700 baht with A/C.

The owner of the bar is from Surat Thani as are some of the girls. The attached photo is a girl from THA who hails from Hat Yai. Smoking body but so-so performer.

I also found the Monkey Bar/Banana Bar area and as someone else said the ladies there seem like drug addicts. I wasn't interested.

Take care[/QUOTE]What I recall is this: I took the last right street before the border (i.e. walking north) and walked down one block (there was a big hotel on the left side of this street) , then one block left, then a little bit right again, and the bar was on the left side of the street. I don't know if this is the "red-light district" but I think there were a couple similar looking bars. Hope this helps.

However, they do need a visa to go to Bangkok. It seems that it's not particularly difficult to get in terms of requirements. Most Lao girls don't make it to BKK, as for them visa + trip + accomodation add up to a lot of money, and it's a bit of a plunge into unknown.

I know a Lao girl who was a Sukhumwit freelancer and would come here occasionally on 30-day tourist visas (saw the passport, she had 3 visas so far). She was very intelligent, but has no job, education, connections or money, so she would not qualify if formal visa requirements were tough.

In clear they can go to nong khai, udon, mukdahan. But not until Bangkok and like for Cambodian it s not easy to get a thai visa for laotian. Don t forget laotian need interior ministry authorisation to go out their country. But if you show all the guarantee to the thai embassy it will easy. But I don t think she will get more than one month visa.

There is a reggae bar at Ao Hin Khok where you can barfine girls. Good live music (not just reggae). Girls are a range from really good through to pretty terrible, I enjoyed a very pretty petite 27yo from Loei, she took me to her room down the road for short term, which was fun - 1000 plus 500 bf plus 200 in taxi fares. Many customers in the bar are ordinary tourists. Behind the bar there is a karaoke room where the Thais go for girls. You have to go through it to get to the mens room.

Quite the opposite, actually.- the "potential bargirls" are under a lot of pressure to bring more money to the family. *your* money. Even normal village girls would have high expectations (given the mia Farang ex-bargirls flashing the wealth back in the village).

If you're looking for a low-maintenance GF, your best bet would probably be lower-middle-class Thai girls (accountants, primary school teachers etc.). Somebody who has just enough money to get by, but is in general content with their life and choices. They are still very interested in Farang, but not only as a meal ticket (though of course it's a factor). They also tend not to go for the jugular immediately (I. E. You can get a few months cheap trial in hopes of marriage. But better not to let on how much you earn).

I don't have much experience in the provinces, but Udon seems to cheap, large enough to have a middle-class, and easy for a Farang to fit in. If all else fails, the 300 baht/pop brothels there are almost cheaper than your right hand.

I have similar tastes to yourself.

I have a couple of regular gf in Thailand, they are low maintenance, and good fun. We can go out to a medium restaurant, one or two drinks, she shows me round, I enjoy the same low cost entertainments that she does. Ans she knows where to buy good clothes at astoundingly low prices from night markets. So I buy some items every time.

I enjoy this kind of mongering.

I also have a couple of married ones that are on tap. Because of their situation, their needs are different. Most just want to meet somewhere to be pampered, made to feel like a real woman, given an orgasm or two, and she reciprocates. This is really nice and uncomplicated. One is married but long term separated, middle class. open invite to stay with her when I like, and for as long as like.

But it took time, effort and persistence with Thai dating sites to get to this situation. It is not quick. But now that my bona fides are established, they are regulars for ever.

I am living with a hot "village girl" now and spend about 20K. I even tested it out one month and we ended up spending about 500 usd ( no going out or eating out). I make it very clear to her that she would not get any money from me for any reason. I only pay for her tution for college which comes out to 30k baht every 5 months. I might give her 3000B to spend to her parents once in a while ( 3-4 months).

Here's a break-down
6500 rent
2500 eletric and water ( air con on 24/7)
9000 food ( 300B per day x 30. This is eating well for a Thai)
1000 Transportation ( take the local 8B truck Taxis, we rarely take a taxi unless it's late night)
19000B total

This is living well ( as far as eating and the air con). You can reduce the food expense to 4500B ( 150B per day) and live just fine. You have to remember that the average Thai factory worker makes 4000B/M and the average office worker makes 8000B/m, so if you get the way they do and travel around the way they do. You can save a lot of money.

My advice.
drink Thai beer
Eat Thai food
Don't loan anyone any money for any reason. And be frank and up front about it. ( I told my TGF that I will not loan out money for any reason)

Don't let your GF buy crap for her family. If she starts to add little this and that to the cart for her sister or whoever. She knows she will get it from me.

I've been burned in the past by another girl and by doing this I can avoid any potential problems.
