Cotopaxi tour and Mitad del Mundo
Hey guys. What is the current taxi fare from the airport to the city? Anyone has comments on the swiss chalet hotel? What are the current rates to book tours to the cotopaxi and equatorial monument? Anyone going to quito on December? We might hook up. I speak fluent spanish.
I have seen tours to Cotopaxi for 45 dollars. I think they only go there on Thursdays. For Mitad del Mundo I don't know about tours, but I took a bus there which runs along avenida 10 de Agusto. It was very inexpensive-less than a dollar each way.

All of these responses are too damn funny!

If you really want to save a few hundred pennies this is what you do!
Once you exit the Airport head South, make a left to the National section of the Airport, you will see a lot of Ecuadorians crossing to the other side of the road. Why did the Ecuadorian cross the road? To save on cab fare!
Once there Taxis will stop and you ask them if they will turn on the meter for you, and they will Oh Hell No! From the Airport to the Sheraton I paid $2.35 give or take 50 pennies!
I agree with all the guys that hate being ripped off, but I also agree with the guys who say relax your on vacation, a few hundred pennies is not worth getting bent out of shape over, or raising your blood pressure at almost 10,000 feet!
Bound if your Espanol is fluent, you can catch the bus to almost anywhere in Quito, to the center of the World I think it is under a dollar! Hell a ten hour bus ride from Quito to Portoviejo is $8 to $10 bills!

Ecuador: is it cheap for mongering?
Hi, a friend of mine has just told me Ecuador is the chepest country of South America for mongering. But after reading some posts I have noticed that to fuck is enough expensive, no much cheap. What is the cheapest town in Ecuador? Can you tell me if it is easy to get a girl friend experience?

Planning trip to Ecuador for 1.5 to 2 weeks
OK - I have researched Colombia, CR, Nicaraugua and Brazil.
Based upon Tung and Ezinho's fabulous reports, I am planning a trip to Ecuador. I am self-emplyed - can take off any time - would like to go in 1-2 weeks.
I need you guys help in planning a trip. suggestions ?
Will go for 1.5 to 2 weeks.
I will spend time perhaps 4 days in Quito to check out the Brothels, of course.
I am a gringo - I speak spanish albeit at the level of a 1st grader.
I like waterlife and would like to dive. IS there any good diving there.
What about Guayaquil? I am very interested in diving - that would be very nice.
What about a side trip to the Galapagos. How far is it. How long to stay there. How much time to go there?
Also - in Quito in between sex?
While in Quito is there anything to do besides?
Places to go ? Things to see? "Bargains (besides p*ssy) to be had?
Thanks in advance.
Water sucks, it really, really, sucks
If you have no problems with altitude sickness 4 or 5 days may be enough time to become acclimated, but I wouldn't try to rush it too much. You could easily spend two weeks visiting all the Chongos.
Tung's guide was extremely helpful to me. I used it as a guidebook for my visits. I was in Quito for almost 2 weeks, and never even got to the South or North brothels. I liked the Touch Me, Casa Roja, and 121 (I think) brothels the most for quantity and quality.
