The ongoing argument is a no brainer. The cheap wham bam places have minimal appeal to westerners flying to HK.
And the points being raised about Thailand ooze complete ignorance. Anyone who has been to Thailand before, should know that the threat of kidnapping is ridiculous. Total American propagander shite!!

I have been reading this debate for the last few days but have avoided adding my two cents as it has been interesting to watch but feel I should chime in.
First it is inaccurate to say that Mong Kok is where the locals go. When I mention to some of my local friends that I on occasion go to Mong Kok to play around they first surprised and then usually tell me to be careful as it is all triad controlled. (Mong Kok is very safe but many Hong Kongers, like the Japanese are easily scared). I have asked before if they would like to come to one of the places there and the answer is resolute “NO!!!”. They much prefer the confines of East TST, Causewaybay or Macau. Most of my local friends fall are of a similar economic (or better) than most of us Expats (and by Expats I mean white western men – gweilos) and earn at least US$100,000 (and other than teachers not many Expats earn less than this). They tend not to like places like Wan Chai as it is not always the most friendly to Chinese unless they have someone like me taking them there.
The locals who tend to visit places in Mong Kok tend to be lower middle class or below. That is why the girls tend to be of lower quality than you can find elsewhere - there are diamonds in the rough though. While I would not go so far to say all the girls are like high class escorts in Wan Chai the example HKDog used of Mong Kok girls being like crack *****s and Wan Chai girls being like escorts is a good one. Most of the girls in Wan Chai I would not touch either but I have long since lost my “yellow fever” so the girl has to be rather nice for me to go with her.
As for pricing if you do Wan Chai correctly it is not that much more expensive. I will recount two stories I had from last week. Both took place with Wan Chai girls.
I mentioned on the boards that with the navy in town last Tuesday I did not feel like going to Wan Chai or making the trip across the harbor so I sent a text message to a lady I met in Wan Chai who is currently unemployed to see if she wanted to meet me. I had been with this girl a few times before and would spend around two hours with her and get 3 or 4 shots in. She gives a great massage, is 23 and has a killer body and a good face. Last time we were together we got talking about what she likes and she mentioned she had a boyfriend who used to tie her up. My second experience in Wan Chai last week was I was having a rather boring Friday night in Lan Kwai Fong. Shortly after 10 I decided to bail and headed off to Wan Chai. I was very dressed up as I had some important meetings that day and do not normally like to go to Wan Chai wearing rather fancy business attire. The is a smoking 21 year old flipper who I taught how to freelance who was making her maiden freelance trip to HK after having come with an agent twice before. I had not seen her in the little over two weeks she had been here as I have been busy but thought she might be at New Makhati (she has 3 or 4 regulars so she can be hard to find sometimes) so I thought I would stop there on the way home. When I arrived she was out on the dance floor with some other guy but as soon as she saw me her face lit up. I went to the bar to grab a beer and no sooner had I got it then she had left the other guy and ran over to me and stuck her tongue as far down my throat as she could. I have to say it is a rather nice feeling when you walk into a bar and the hottest girl is running over to see you because she is so happy you are there. We hung out for around 40 minutes in the bar and I bought her a $65 ladies drink and then we retired to a short time hotel for 2 hours. She washed me up and we screwed twice. The girl still needs a little assistance in the experience area but she is getting better. I think based on the two experiences listed above one would be hard pressed to say that Wan Chai is over priced compared with Mong Kok based on how much time and the number of shots with each of the girls. One is more likely to have girls negotiate a rate that is too high in Wan Chai but if you know how to play the field and ignore the ugly girls it can be a great place and not that much more expensive than Mong Kok. An usually the girls are less mechanical.
There are a number of places in the Jordan to Sham Shui Po corridor that are quite good as well that I would recommend people to. They tend to be more run down then elsewhere in Hong Kong. Not everything is “cheap” in absolute terms in Mong Kok such as the nightclubs but they are “cheap” compared to East TST. I have also met good ladies in both areas of town.
I would generally agree with HKDog that compared to other nationalities many Chinese providers are rather mechanical but the lady who has been the best lay of my life works in that corridor and I have followed her around to a number of places (where I am usually the only expat customer they ever get). She is around 33-35 but still has a really petite and in shape body and really is the best lay I have ever had. Although when I visit her in a sauna we usually spend the whole 90 minutes screwing a couple times and do not do much massaging. It is a little weird though because she tells me about her husband and kid and sometimes I get text messages from her asking for help with her kid’s English homework. For a price check it currently costs me $588 when I see her for 90 minutes in Mong Kok.
That would make for a much better discussion topic then whether Mong Kok or Wan Chai is better which nationalities on average tend to be best. I think you might even need to split it out between providers in HK and in their home countries. I will take the first shot:

Again we should emphasize this is not the same as the list of looks. I have yet to meet and Indo that doens't have one thing seriously wrong with her (i.e her teeth, smell, looks, shape etc) but in terms of performance and effort they go the extra mile.

So anyone flying 20 hours from the US and NOT going to those places for some Asian ass must be stupid. But HK is one of the shortest flights between the East Coast of the US (Newark) and Asia. Only around 15 hours in the air. So it makes sense to get that part of the travel out of the way before going on to other parts of Asia.
But while in HK the only reason I go to the Wan Chai bars if for the amazing quality Vitamin C (coke). It definitely is not some big secret of what is going on in some of those bars. But never seems to be mentioned here. So maybe that is one of the other big reasons why so many guys go there but just don't come out and say it.
As for mongering. 40 min train ride to Shenzhen is defiantly more fun and easy to get Vitamin K (ket). And for over all quality (who cares about the price) the Sauna's of Macau is #1. It just sucks they don't all sell alcohol.
So a good trip for me is a few days of mongering plus all the party favors in HK (Vitamin C), a few days in Shenzhen (Vitamin K) and a few days in Macau just recovering (like a rehab). Then off to some other place in Asia!

I don't think that is why most of the guys go to Wan Chai. Most of the expats out here I know are not really into the drug scene - some yes, but not most. If one is TST or Mong Kok would be a better place to buy or even in Lan Kwai Fong.
There are a few places in Wan Chai that are more known for selling drugs. I would say it reached its peak about a year ago before the cops really cleared out the Colombian girls. Fenwicks, in particular is know for drugs and that among many reasons is why it is one of my least favorite place to go. One Sunday in early summer about a dozen Indonesian maids were arrested in and around Neptune for dealing.
If you know who owns which bar you can pretty much tell which places have more dealing going on.
Recall the two businessmen from overseas that died in their hotel two weeks ago had not been drugged and robbed by bargirls as originally thought but died of some bad/overdosed on Heroin they bought in Wan Chai.
I have never understood the whole drug thing - it seems like a dumb way to screw your life up but each to his own I guess.

But what about all the expats you don't know. Since that is not your thing, there is little chance you will ever meet those type.
Some of the Wan Chai bars is an easy place to score some pretty good quality, and for a person who does'nt live in HK I feel more confortable buying there than at the Chungking Mansions. It is simple: Ask any girl from the same country that is the biggest supplier of it and with in 3 mins some guy from the same county walks up to you and hands you what ever you want. You pay him, and that is it. Of course don't make it SUPER obvious. But it does'nt feel sketchy.
I agree for some people it screws up their life big time.

I am not a big Sunday fan but out of those 95% maybe 3% are hot. But they are being chased by many men. Maybe you just don't have what it takes to score with one of the 3%. Seriously though, it's seeing all those maids flocking together on Sundays which has got me so turned off to flippers in general. Yes, I know that the maids are not representative of the flipper population and I'm sure that there are TONS of attractive ones out there, but the image of those Sunday maids painting/clipping each others toenails, picking lice out of each others hair (ok, I'm probably exaggerating on this one) in public sort of just wrecks the mood for me.
