Interestingly, word on street is that the powers behind Alexis and other entertainment venues in the city are the ones who backed the new Governor during his campaign. There is curiosity around how the Governor will balance the interests of his voters and his "investors".

If the licence is not renewed, Alexis might go to court, which means there might be a full roster of political, military and corporate names that start tumbling out. It could lead to the scandal of the decade.

That said, the girls will simply move to other venues or start working independent. AS for the "imported" girls, sadly they might have to return to their home countries.

So, have the authorities shut down Alexis with immediate effect or are they given some sort of a notice period to close its operations? Can anyone confirm?

That is her main problem at the moment. And this uncertainty is making her a little nervous although she is young and remains upbeat at the same time. I am sure that she and her friends will figure something out and most likely start working at Emporium or some other bordello if Alexis does not reopen or relocate soon. Our relationship was moving beyond the getting together at Alexis stage, so whatever happens I am very sure that we will be getting together at my hotel as soon as I arrive in town. I am really looking forward to seeing her again. In the meantine she will keep me informed on what she is up to and where she is working.

I have my fingers crossed that this Alexis closing is just a small bump in the road and get straightened out, although I think it is probably more ominous and serious. The political winds are not blowing in the right direction in Jakarta at the present time. I am going to miss the Alexis Hotel. It was (is) one of my favorite brothels. They always had a wonderful selection of young Indo girls and the best group of Viet imports in the city.

I hope that at least some of them go to Illegals. I like the potential in that place.

All I know is they have a nightclub / bar / lounge on the 1st floor and a spa / swimming pool on the 4th floor (3 B) with rooms on the 5th floor. The prices I have heard of are old - 850,000 rp for Indo girls and 1,250,000 for imports. I gather you like the selection. I agree with you there; it is all about the girls.

I wrote about it in my field report a couple of months ago. The inside is larger and very luxurious. Nicer than Alexis. It even has several "fantasy rooms" to use: a hospital bed, a gym, and an office. If you decide to hook up with a lady, use of the fantasy rooms is free.

Other than being dark (not well lit enough), the facilities were the best that I saw in Jakarta. Only problem was that the quality of the ladies there was low.

But it has huge potential. It just needs a good crew of ladies.

I'm coming to Jakarta with a group of guys for a boys weekend. We'll probably end up at Bats and CJ's but those places don't get going till midnight. Can anyone recommend a good place to have drinks in the early evening? Alexis would have been perfect. Malio looks too far away; we're staying in Central Jakarta. I've been to some of the bars in the better hotels but they can be quite stuffy.
