Front desk guy at 76 changshou MP
He always asks me something before AND after my session. Wtf is he asking me? He always seems put off. Anyway, the quality at this place is low but it is cheap and service is not bad. But I suppose this is not a news flash to anyone on here. Just want to know what that guy is asking, especially after the session. Thanks, friends.
2 or 3 days in downtown Shanghai.
Hi guys,
I will be staying in downtown for 2 or 3 days mostly just to see the city, but I wouldn't mind some additional experiences. I do not speak Chinese and do not feel like going to saunas / clubs on my own, although I am very familiar with similar places in Eastern Europe.
Are there any hotels (around 70-150 USD per night) not too far from downtown that offer sauna or in room massage with extras on site? Or you have to go out for that? I am used to prices around 50-100 USD per hour, but I am more concern about safety than price this time.
It does not have to be downtown, but it is more convenient for sightseeng given that I am not familiar with local transportation (usually travel with Chinese co-workers).
Thanks in advance!
Perfect timing as well. OnceUponATimee comes looking for help just after 3 people comment about all the 'users' on this board. OnceUponATimee has lived in Shanghai for a couple years, has 3 posts. All of which are asking for help.
This is exactly why I stopped being a regular contributor. While it doesn't take very long, it still does take time to post quality reviews. And when that goes unreciprocated it just gets to be stupid.
Cheers to all you active posters!
Taz.
Taz, I always appreciated your posts. Sorry if I never told you. Get back on the board, we need quality reviews!! It's very important especially with the current weather. This is an issue of safety as well as quality. I used to get to Shanghai 6 times or more a year. Now I only get there 2-3 . All reviews help me know what's going on in between visits and I appreciate them. That is why I post like a crazy man when I am in shanghai. Trying to return the favor.
Onceuponatime sent me a PM right after I started the conversation about the "takers" vs givers. He wanted info from me. I told him to try posting information and gaining help. He basically posted the same PM he sent me. (real effort guy).
We need all good posters and information sharers My rules are simple for sharing.
1. low post counters don't get my help unless they have a good number of contributions vs posts. It shows they are trying.
2. I require them to post a report if I give them information. I tell them I will help them if they contribute. I explain that even their failures provide a chance for all of us to learn.
3. if they won't post they owe me a PM to tell me how it went.
4. If they don't share, they are dead to me.
When I posted the first comment, I was mad at myself when I broke my own rules to help a "one post wonder". He also crashed and burned trying to meet one of my contacts. She had contacted me to confirm him, which I did, They were having trouble communicating and I was trying to help him close the deal. He was new to shanghai. He made a lot of mistakes and I tried to let him know how to fix it. He went dark and wouldn't answer. OK. Dead to me now.
This board taught me a lot in my early days and that is what this board is about. Let's all work to make it good. If we all refuse to help, this board becomes useless to all of us.
SAMCAN.
