Here people will be looking at paying 500 - 800 INR for an hour's play all inclusive. (room + female) Once you visit a brothel you have to pick a woman. (unwritten law. Thats why u visit it in the 1st place) Now pickup bars offer you music, drinks, service, proper clean rooms, booze and also the option of not screwing a girl even after dancing with her and fondling her. Well friend as I have written it would be wrong to generalise and make sweeping statement. That youngsters and aficionados prefer the so called discos and pickup bars, to brothels is because a majority of brothels are very grimy. The CSW’s there usually service one customer every half an hour. More over there are some who look forward to a girlfriend experience and like to pretend that they have wooed the girl in the bar and not just bought their sex. You cant get these pretensions at a brothel.

I do not know what you meant by hawkers, here hawkers are those who sell goods say shirts or vegetables or fruits from a temporary establishment, these would probably be of little help. Tourists especially foreigners are considered as gullible fat cows to be milked off their cash so I am not surprised that you have been taken for a ride (nice pun?!!) by the taxi drivers.

I reiterate that the best bet is to take the help of a knowledgeable local.

Also if some foreigner has been let off for Rs. 10000 it is being let off lightly perhaps as for a foreigner it is not as much a scandal.

Adult prostitution as far as I know is not a crime in India. Trafficking is, soliciting is, illegal use of premises is.

.[/QUOTE]Hi Loser. Well must have been my unlucky day. The girl in question made sure I had a wash but did not bother to do so herself, perhaps, supremely confident that she smelled like roses. Well she did not. And regarding tourist denominated areas. Man if you get lost in mumbai give me a shout and I will get you out of the nooks and crannies where ever you find yourself or rather lose yourself. Anyone can have a bad experience. I had 3 that time I was in mumbai and 2 were good while the third smelled. Not too bad by any count. I am sure a lot of guys, anywhere in the world, will come across a lemon, once in a while. Some are open enough to post about their bad experiences, like me, and some just want to show how savvy they are and dont post their bad experiences. If only everyone posted their bad experiences, as well, this forum would be invaluable in helping a visitor in avoiding the pitfalls.
