It's possible to live here for an extended amount of time on 7-10 grand, but you will need to make some sacrifices and live within a strict budget and/or have a source of income in Mexico while you live there.

Morelia - Motorcycle trip (5/29)

Drove from Queretaro to Morelia on Saturday on my motorcycle this past Saturday, and boy, Michoacan really is a beautiful state. The views of the hills and mountains are great.

While in Morelia, I stayed in the Hotel Casino (Best Western) right across from the Cathedral. Paid $800 pesos (taxes included) Really nice outside restaurant with lots of women walking by. The SW area on Heroes de Nocupetaro is mainly between Juan Alvarez and Guillermo Prieto. At least that's where the hotel is; I saw SWs on the blocks to either side, too. Private dances are 160 for 3 minutes, or 600 for 15 minutes. Going upstairs is possible, but expensive, and I didn't try it. I was disappointed when the stripper didn't get completely nude for the private dance, as they had in other Mexican places I had been, and I left. For what it's worth, the taxista said that Excesso was the best place now. Of course that could mean that he gets a tip for bringing in clientele, but the fact is that I don't know. It's right across the street from Manhattan.

I got to do a little sight seeing and Morelia is really a great city for that.

I can give you the site of the street girls, but mind you I don't have a map in front of me at the moment.

The old bus terminal (el viejo Central Camionera) is on the street "Eduardo Ruiz." Ok, now you are facing the old bus terminal. At the end of the right side of the terminal there's a side street.
