Port-au-Prince

Just got back from Haiti a few days ago.

At night in Port-au-Prince, you can hear gunfire (and automatic weapons) sporadically all night. Some areas are worse than others, with Petion Ville being (relatively) safe. It is NOT safe to take a taxi unless you speak the language like a native. Kidnappings are a viable source of income, and nobody should be getting into a car with someone who you don't know, or hasn't come highly recommended from a trusted source.

The power/electrical shortages continue, and the streets are VERY dark.

If you have a taste for Haitian women, you will find plenty in the DR. The current environment in Haiti is not conducive to skirt-chasing. Even the Brasilian-led UN peacekeeping force isn't inclined to wander into the various urban skirmishes.


That being said, there are still some of you who will want to go (probably be more motivated by the lure of danger). If you DO go, stay at a PV hotel and stick to the usual spots (Harry's, Krystal, etc). Leave the Oyster Perpetual at home, and head out to Wahoo or Kaliko Beach. Ensure that the hotel calls for a taxi for you, and that they make note of who your driver is....and DO NOT OVERPAY. Average Haitian earns $100 to $150 US$ per month. Keep that in mind.

Was in Port au Prince this week. Almost caught in a gun battle over an attempted carjacking. Met two friend that had close friends kidnaped over the weekend. The kidnapers were wanting $600,000US!! Who the hell has that type of money?

There was absolutely no mongering to be had. Haiti is NOT happen'in fellas. The D.R is right next door and a much better party atmosphere.

Haiti was a monger´s paradise before the U.S. stepped in and introduced "democracy". When Baby Doc was still in power there was tons of SW action, and a bunch of casas with chiquitas from the D.R. Cheap pussy all over the place, and you could walk anywhere and no one would touch you. No crime, no kidnappings. Why? One time I saw some guy who obviously didn´t know what his fate would be, try to grab a camera from a tourist. A ton of cops starting whacking the guy with sticks and guns. The police either practically killed him, or actually killed him because he wasn´t moving at the end. Instant justice in the streets. No democracy, but plenty of zoom zoom (as they say in Haiti).

I am curious...what would be the best areas to find Haitians in the DR?

You cannot, not find Haitian girls in the DR. Lots in Boca Chica.

If you want to find Haitians, the best place is along the Florida turnpike coming north from Miami. They work in all the rest stops and all have fat asses.

If you are looking for campo haitianas check out the bateyes - haitian pueblos in the DR mostly originally created for cane cutting laborers. They exist in all the cane growing areas. Near PP Montellano has them. There is a bateye about 2km down the dirt road heading south right near Field of Dreams hotel across the road from Playa Dorada.

Bateye haitians are frequently undocumented - and are justifiably fearful of being arbitrarily grabbed by the police or military and dumped back over the border into haiti. Even people born in the bateyes who have lived their entire lives in the DR are not legally DR citizens. The chicas in the tourist areas have learned to cope with this but lots of haitianas back in the bateyes are shy of being out in regular dominican society.

the best way to get nooky in haiti is not from the *****s. If you are driving down the street and see something good you stop and ask her if she wants a ride. If so see if she wants to go with you to your room. If not get a phone number or give her your cell number. They love sex and believe me you will have the best time because they get into it. I have three regulars and they all three look great and have no problem swallowing. They think that is there duty. Stay in Petionville or up and down Delmars.

Having arrived several weeks ago, I must say that the postings on this page are wholely misleading. PAP is a mongers paradise, and the women of Haiti are extremely well endowed, well versed, and of a very pleasant disposition.

I once heard it said that in poor countries, a man's personality is kept in his back pocket. This is true in PAP for sure. Clubs abound, Club-D, Esquina Latina, Extreme, Flamingo, Soft Lady, Off Limits, Jet Set, and many others.

Cost, try about G1,500/all night. Thats about 40G/$, so about $30.00. Try that in most places in the Western Hemisphere!

If you are traveling throught the streets of Peitionville, and get a smile, stop and say hi! Chances are that you will have a confidant for the evening, and beyond if you wish.

Is it safe in PAP, hell no! Is it safe if you know a friend who can get you your PAP (Sea) legs, hell yes!

If you can get here, come on down. It ain't no Santo Domingo, but it has a certain charm all it's own!

What is the latest with regards to safety Haiti? I am getting mixed reviews. has anyone here ever used Caribe Tours to get from Santo Domingo to Haiti?
