Hi, I was one month in Venezuela and in particularly in Barquisimeto. Comeliness of girls is hight, they are wonderful. I was wondering if anyone knows the bet way to get from Valencia to Caracas nowadays? I used to take high-end buses but I've heard it's more risky now with the security situation. Is there an airline that flies between these cities? Perhaps a private driver? I'd appreciate anyone "in the know" who can give some guidance.

Thanks in advance![/QUOTE]I know for certain that Aserca Airlines does not have direct flights from Caracas to Valencia (you would need to fly from Caracas to Barcelona, and then to Valencia), and I doubt any of the rest of the airlies would cover that route, the two cities are too close. The safest way probably would be to ask in your hotel to arrange a "carrerita" with a Taxi driver they know and trust.

Thanks in advance![/QUOTE]You can travel by road on day time, it's safe. I take last February the road from Caracas to Barcelona then to Cumana and then to Isla Margarita, and the way back. It's was a long journey but safe. There are many police check point on the road, at least on day time.

Ok. So I arrived Valencia today. Many people told me not to go to Venezuela completely as if I was going to get killed as soon as I get out of the airport.

I arrived airport and tried to fly to Isla Margarita or LOS roques. I have brought in two colombian girls with me from medellin. Ok. So first day I arrived I got in Taxi and arrived Hotel Hesperia. The hotel does not seem girl friendly as much but at this point I did not care I was more worried about changing money. Believe me on a Sunday this was no easy task. So as I mentioned before I did change money first day at range of 850 bsf to usd.

Second day, Monday I talked to a guest of hotel and he brought $100 worth for 920 per USD. This was best I got, but not enough supply. So on Monday I tried hardest to get to Parlomar or to Puerto de la Cruz. Flight tickets cost was about $25 return but nothing is available, not even one seat but I was told it is due to high season.

So I asked finally what is option and I was told to go spend 2 days at beach near by and drive by car to the near city. OH God. I didn't want to even leave the hotel forget driving to another city. People had me scared shitless. Anyway I asked the locals and they said it's BS. Oh well I took my chances and I hired a hotel taxi driver and they charged $15 to go 1 HR drive in a small suv. This worked good. So going the distance made me much more comfortable with the area around Venezuela.

Now I can tell you after spending 3 days here is it is simply not true that Venezuela all over is dangerous. It is same like Medellin, Colombia where by some areas could be safe and some very very bad. Bottom line taxis are more expensive then flights. It's wierd.

Now the worst thing that I have to say about Venezuela is only one thing and that is when you change $100 your pockets are physically not sufficient. God damn each 100 bsf is almost like 10 cents USA. Think about 100 US $ change is almost like 1000 bills.

One time I changed $200 and it was like needing small box.

Food situation is simple here people who don't have money don't have food but those who have it they have it all.
