The only way I could see this working is:
I do not handle money from a guy. He can pay a girl in a room. BUT when she gives me money then I'm part of a transaction. That seems like a problem! There is not much I have to trust her for if I know her in the Phils enough to know her family. I don't think she would stiff me too easily if I ask for a portion of the money upon return. Then there is the chance that a girl tries to turn against me and makes up some story. But it would be my word against hers. She wouldn't do it in BKK-- it's more foreign to her than to me.
As far as someone that I introduce to a fabulous babe from the Phils, I think I would have to make it clear that the person is just a traveling companion and I am no more or less (which is not exactly true). What is my obligation to the girls so if the guy is a Psycho I can help them out? Maybe she can text me if she's in a really bad situation and I am just the traveling friend that comes to be whatever help I can. And he would know that he really should behave him self because these girls deserve it (my attitude in general with ANY P2P situation).
BKK is such a big place. If I make trips there with 3 girls for 3 weeks at a time, and I DON'T have regular costumers for them who could start telling "bad guys" in the city about me and I DON't frequent the same places, well maybe then it's safe-ish.
The only reason I even think of BKK first is that it SEEMS most lax with it's P2P, but I don't know a lot about what goes on behind the scenes there. In Cebu, for example, if you are caught (and it usually happens from the guys you DON"T pay off who come down from Manila and the Federal this or that law agency) you will be in jail for a VERY long time. By "caught" I'm thinking of Mama Sans who I know of who are or were going to be sentenced to massive jail terms, but I think all bar owners know enough to pretent they know nothing of any of the girls working for them doing P2P. They would never let themselves be drawn in as "conected". My guess is they can say a "bar fine" is not for sex.
Singapore? I don't want to guess the penalty. Hong Kong, again I have no idea what the Chinese would do if they decide you have indeed been involved in P2P.
But when I was in BKK not too long ago, it seemed that freelancers were everywhere and not at all concerned about the cops. So if that's the case, and I am merely acting as a friend introducing them ...and they later ask for money...well that's why BKK seemed logical.
I would never invest in a bar. Everyone is doing that, and this has advantages that bars don't.

Now, who ever is footing the bill for this traveling panty show better have his ducketts in a row. Consider the cost of getting a Filipina a passport, now a plane ticket. Now put them up in a hotel, food, dresses, shoes (Working clothes) makeup, hairstyle, Food, cell phones. Are you gonna get 'em a visa or just stay the thirty days? Add all that up and add a few things I forgot and multiply by how many ladies you intend to bring. Give you some idea what you need to break even or even afford the payoffs to whomever.
So financially it wouldn't be feasible IMHO, unless you had some guys lined up ready to pay a couple hundred US a throw. (short time).
Now as I said before, I lived in LOS, worked out of the resort town of Phuket and went to BKK and other places often. I NEVER SAW A FILIPINA WORKING GIRL!!!!! Now I heard of two Filipina sisters down in Krabi (I think) who ran a bar and had a couple of Phils working it but I never confirmed it.
Last but not least I ask: has this Hypothetical person EVER been to LOS BKK and spent any time there? I mean other than mongering, does he know the language? The customs? Can he read Thai?
Its a nice fantasy, one I had, I was going to BUY a bar in Phuket and be a pimp daddy just like my Idol (The Dutch guy who runs the Club Eden bar on soi 7 1/2). But I decided it wasn't worth the hassle.

If the idea is only running a business, before you do that check out Philippine company law (especially if you are going into the recruitment of Philippine labor) as well as very difficult general trade union problems. A few years ago HSBC threatened to pull out of Philippines and most foreign companies have a non-stop trade union problem. Not so sure I would say you can "own nothing". I own an outsourcing company 99.5%. I'm the president and I have a work visa 'cause it's registered with PEZA.
By the way, the company is failing, in part because the "sevice" nature of it in the IT area meant that the Phils way of doing things did cause a lot of cultural problems for my companies costumers (this is not a call center or something like that),
It's true that the majority shareholders must be from the Phils, but their ownership is token.
As far as trust, my conclussion after running this company is that it is true that there are more people "jaded" because their country is so fucked up than if you looked in the US or Europe. they are more willing to take advantage of someone regardless of where he is from.
But on the other-hand, Filipinos are famous for their loyalty. And man have I seen that. I've had employees working for me for almost 3 years who I trust far more than anyone I've worked with in the US all my life.
One thing I will also share is my experience that filipinos are lacking in "rational common sense" that we are used to in the west and don't ever over look that as a cliche. It is VERY real. That is a general trait in SEA, especially Thailand. But doing biz in the Phils can drive a Westerner crazy because people can do so many things that are clearly irrational. Even some of the ethnic Chinese who are very rational businessman will say the same.

Regarding the idea of going to BKK with Phil girls.
I find it very interesting, very, that there are not more girls going over there own there. I've been there with 3 of my employees for biz (all women) and it was very interesting how they were as clueless about LOS as a westerner would be the first time. RT flight from cebu is only 180 USD.
I do think my idea is do-able, but risky. The key is that it is I who help break the ice for these girls to meet guys. Sure, there's a trillion other girls, but they may not have someone as a very effective go-between.
I posted roughly the same idea in the BKK thread and in my 12 years of being online have NEVER been flamed so badly. Part of that is the mob mentality on that thread. And part of it is that they saw me as "invading their turf" by trying something like that.
"Asia Hand" who's got a record of 100s of posts on the board told me to "fuck off" which gave me a chuckle.
Anyway, it's all academic now, because I'm not going to do that. As far as the "traditional routes" of getting into the P4P industry, I've talked to enough bar owners to not even dream of ever wanting to own a bar.
It's true that Thai's in GENERAL are for sure better in bed. I've slept with at least 25 of them, and lost count in the 100s for Filipinas. But when you hand select, I think girls from Cebu come out hands down winners. That is largely due to the fact that even girls that are not too "hardened" can speak some English. That's the type I and many others like. But in BKK, many/most girls like that other than providing great sex ...it's just sign language...which I don't find as fun nor do many other guys.

Regading that, I recently tried to invest in the Philippine stock market, wanted to buy PLDT and San Mig among some others, WHAT A FREAKIN HASSLE!!!!! For a foreigner to buy Phil stock you have to get a Phil business license and TIN, all stock certificates MUST be held in BPI which you have to open an account in. I dont have a problem with TIN or the bank holding the certificates but getting a "business" license????BS! IT'S AN INVESTMENT IN A PHIL COMPANY, that is yet another reason why people dont want to invest in the Phils, difficult to do even through legitimate channels, however, you can purchase several Phil company stocks through your US broker as several are traded internationally...and you dont need a business license.
Regarding teh BKK idea WL, it doesn;t suprise me that you got the reaction you did from the BKK board, I knew you would, be glad you didn;t lay out all that cash and get the same reaction when you and the three lovelies stepped off the plane, trust me, you wouldn't have been around to post on it.
