You may have construed my answer wrongly.
Wazza i'd like to chime in here & say that in my experience whilst some BG's are career hookers, most are not. Most are girl next door types who through circumstance find themselves doing that job.
Common life story from bar girls is : from a poor family, job of last resort either due to loss of breadwinner in family at early age (typically father) or got knocked up by pinoy guy (long gone) & shamed into taking this work to support the new mouth to feed.
If you don't think girls in this situation don't dream of falling in love with a nice rich foreigner and having a better life you're kidding yourself.
When bar girls look me in the eye & say 'this is not my dream job' I understand where she is coming from in this strictly catholic hypocritical country.
Amavida
Hi AV,
IMHO, with respect, there has been a flawed interpretation, on your part of my post (#1181). The original post (#1180) contained sweeping statements/generalizations where the poster stated " 1) The girls you met are poor, poor girls who wanted to do everything to escape from this misery (the best they like is to go out of the country), foreigners make them a millionair..."
FYI.
A general/sweeping statement or conclusion that is presented as a general truth but based on limited or incomplete evidence, then the process of verification is necessary to determine whether a generalization holds true for any given situation.
My point is that the original poster made a sweeping statement and I merely asked him to prove his claim. I did not say that bar girls did not want to marry foreigners.
You will see X MAN (#1185) has picked this up and has given a clear example of how to correctly write a statement without over-generalising.
Take care, travel safe.
