TIA,
That's a good idea if you go regularly. However, bear in mind one thing. The Peso fluctuates pretty much against the Dollar (or Euro). So, say if you open an account this month with UD$10, 000, in 6 months it may be worth only $9, 000. Funman.
Might be, but if you plan to use that account to spend money only and the prices stay the same. It is irrelevant whether those peso are worth less dollars. If you plan not to spend and draw the peso back into dollar then the fluctuation can represent a problem.

Westernunion. Com vs ATM
For several years I always used ChinaBank in SM. They had the best deal, maximum withdrawal of 20, 000p with 150p ATM fee. However, the last time I was in AC in November, the max was only 10, 000p (US$243) with 200p ($4. 87) , same as other banks. Seems like all ATMs of Fili banks in AC now have the same limit and fee. What a rip-off!
Does anyone know a better ATM? What is the limit of the CitiBank ATM on MacArthur?
I read somewhere that there is an HSBC ATM at Clark Airport now. Can anyone verify? Going back to AC in February. Thanks.
While on vacation last month. I made a last minute 2nd trip back to AC. I was low of funds. So I went to western union. Com and sent myself money to cover the 6 days in AC. The fees was very low, free if I sent the money to Western Union by my bank's bill pay and only $9 if I sent money in minutes. If I chose the money transfer option from my bank account to western union the fee was $2. 99. The exchange rate was a little low 39. 7. But I see now you can also be paid out in US dollars. The max amount you can send is $2999. 99.

Fetish In Angeles?
hi all,
i'm off to angeles in febuary for a 3 week holiday, i have been to thailand many times in the past and have been hearing a lot about a. c. from various sources.
whilst my times in thailand have been fun to date, it's a big world out there and as my granny used to say ' when the duck is wet the elephant, though dry, will always eat a ham sandwich and perform cunnilingus on a crocodile ' (my granny was senile ).
my question is whether or not there are any establishments that cater for those people like myself who are into a bit of s&m. i don't mean heavy play, or bloodplay, nothing serious really. basically i am talking about light bondage, [CodeWord117], and stuff like that.
i have been onto all the websites specialising in this (won't mention them here for fear of breaking any rules) , and can't find any info.
many thanks for any information or advice.

I will be in AC from Feb 1 to 5. If you are in town, I'll hold you to that beer!

Great idea about opening two accounts: foreign and local currencies. Thanks.
FM,
I was the OP and Hutsorry just repeated what I posted.

The peso does fluctuate alot versus the dollar, and that's the beauty of my system. Open a local peso account and a USD account and-or third currency account with a philippine bank. (only select Philippine banks offer third currency accounts). I wire transfer money into the USD or third currency account and it remains there unaffected by currency fluctuations until I choose to exchange it into pesos. I watch the rate and when it gets at or near a 52 week high I make the exchange.
The downside, you will have to go into your philippine bank a few days ahead of time to make sure they have the currency on hand for the transaction. Another point, you have to do the exchange in person, no phone calls, emails or proxy will do. They need your signature and it's best to be there to ensure the rate and transaction goes smooth. Also only exchange money-peso that you plan to spend, because every time you make an exchange you lose a percentage.
This system works great for someone who lives in the Philippines or spends alot of time here and can afford to let some money sit and wait for the rate to go up. Also works best for someone who will exhange alot of funds at once, because a few percentage points make a big difference. If you are only spending 40000php per year in the Philippines just exchange it at current rates.
If I don't catch you before your sojourn on to AC, Hombre, have a very Happy Hunting New Year. BTW, school girl wifey just told me she wants to phuck YOU as a belated "Christmas" gift to me. WTF? I have not even told her yet I'm withholding Winter Term tuition for some wrong attitude she's been giving me recently, LOL. But I don't mind you nailing her; she's a dirty filthy hore, haha.
And a very Happy New Year to the rest of you pussy mongering preverts as well!
Pb
We met, we saw, she conquered! Yikes, I have not been serviced by a woman with this degree of grace and beauty since. Well, maybe never. That does it, I will have to go to Ghana this year in search of similar experience.
Thank you Pete, it was more than exceptional. That was an evening I will never forget.
I cannot find an HSBC ATM in AC! I have an HSBC Premier ATM card and Credit card.
I've exactly the same and there is no need for HSBC ATM. Take any other ATM (BPI, BDO etc) and you won't be charged. If you're on Premier status the fee is waived by the bank. At least it works for me in that way.

for your purposes you'd be much better off going to bangkok and spending time in places like bar bar which cater to your paraphilia.

Lay of the land.
How's it going, people? Quick geography question for those who know the area: I was planning to stay at the Phoenix Hotel on Perimeter Road and Malabanias (my top choices were already full for my Jan. 9 arrival day, unless somebody has a recommendation? I want to move closer to Fields for the rest of my stay.) Is this walkable to the nightlife area on Fields, and what's the walking time, at a Philippines holiday pace? A jeepney would be, what. 10P or something, right? And trike trips at night are going to be around 100P? Please forgive the questions, just wanted to confirm with people who might be in the know.
Another question: for the run from the airport, is there a way to get from the terminal to the main gate to grab a jeepney? Or am I going to have to fight for the 300-350P I've read it should cost in a taxi? Jeepneys make the run past the main gate of the airport, right?

The same service is $25 almost everywhere else and I think $27 in Thailand. Why does WU have such a sweet deal with the Philippines?
