Filipinas dont tend to hang around the bars and clubs in Abu Dhabi. Manila Bay (in Emirates Plaza) has a few but that is a place where non WGs and their friends go to socialise. Asian Flava and I have seen 2-3 WGs there at times and they are shy as they realise their compatriots know or suspect they are WGs.

Manily Filipinas found through the mamasan contacts not the bars :( So you need to know them or find a Filipina who is working for a mamasan etc.

late (ish) and brief fr about my meeting with asian flava the other night when we ended up at harvesters (in sands hotel). he has posted as well is ee so what the hell double post :)

also met up with jimmy the one while he was in town – nice monger, lots of energy and fun socially. look forward to hid return trips.

decided upon pub grub saturday with asian flava. went to ally pally as food not bad but the aed30 entry charge put us off – why add to the food bill and see ugly prc. a quick peel inside before we were asked to leave indicated that there were few punters, in fact it was very empty. if the ally pally management ever read isg, please stop the entry charge as most mongers now appear to be going elsewhere!

then to pj o’reillys but this was busy, very noisy etc so we decided to try the tavern (sheraton). been here only a few times, more of an older expat drinking place not a real mongers paradise. good food, nice waitresses but no wgs. a few came in with punters but none to be seen hanging around.

then to harvesters. long time since either of us were in that place and probably the case again. about 10 prcs in the middle of the pub, band was dreadful (3 cis girls and a guy) and it managed to crucify just about every tune (hotel california was especially awful). prcs were generally older, some chubby. the older arab crooners liked the latter girls. one or tow had minor potential but nothing for a takeaway for either of us.

the younger prcs were uglier than the older ones who at least knew how to wear mini skirts and boots, or pvc style hot pants. one in very tight jeans was attracting attention as she was gyrating a lot.

then his westerner mate came over with a prc and asked, still no. so the prc turned around, saw a friend who had just arrived and she said yes! she went with the poor guy – she was imho (and af’s view) the oldest, chubbiest and ugliest one there but the man was happy who that is that matters! and yes if i had woken up with her i would thought i had died and was in hell.

just opposite is the howard johnson diplomat hotel. odd set-up. top floor 14th i think, is a disco bar full of prc but pretty rough. payment required (30 adr i think) to get in. one floor up, stairs only, is another bar that the philippine ex-pat frequent. however, these girls are either with partners or friends, and are usually not wg.

go down to 2nd and 1st floors, and you find 4 or 5 small bars/rooms with indian, pakistani, bengali, ethiopian and other themes with dancers in each. apart from the ethiopian bar, girls are not wg (as far as i can tell). go outside, and to the left is a pub bar attached called the cellar. small, with live band (crap!) and various cis and black girls, but not many. depending upon the day of the week, plenty of prc streetwalkers loiter outside, though there may have been a police clamp-down recently, as i haven’t noticed many on my last visits.

next place on the visit is 49’ers on the top floor of the dana hotel, near abu dhabi mall. girls of all nationalities, live band, can be crowded. often got take-aways here, usually 400-500 adr. girls pay to get in here, so unlikely to get price much below 400 adr.

tried harvesters basement bar in sands hotel, but closes midnight. this has some girls, not many and mainly prc.

next took a taxi to ally pally (al ain palace hotel), but this now has entry fee to bar on ground floor (next to karaoke bar, no fee). used to be full of prc and africans, but empties about midnight, and now there’s a charge to get in, will probably start to die!

next stop was rock bottoms, in the capital hotel. spent 45 minutes trying to chat up 2 girls (non wg) from nepal, but blew out. live band, not bad, and seemed some wg’s, but this was not tested.

last stop blitz, side of novotel. now 2.00 am, and still packed and v smoky. band last year was great, but this new one (here since ramadan) is nowhere near as good. place packed with prc and some africans, with a few cis in one area.

the red lion - on 1st floor in international hotel on hamdan st.. very quiet, small bar with a few wg’s, usually fat russians and africans.

there are other more expensive places (both drinks and wg prices) in sheraton and beech rotana and others, but hey – i’m a cheap guy so i tend to stick to the bottome end of the market.
