I just paid about $690 for round trip from Honolulu to manila on Philippine Airlines direct flight. They are having a sell for those looking for deals. Also from LA or San Francisco it was around $800 direct flight.

Some may not live on the west coast as I don't. So I used my miles from the local airlines to get to west coast. Also this route saves you a layover or 2. A lot of the airlines like Delta will make a million stops, first Detroit, then Japan, then manila and then early 6AM flight back home. Yikes! The return on Philippine Airlines is around 3PM in the afternoon. I hope this help some of you.

Might want to keep an eye on your flight status...theres been some shuffling of flights due to PAL's strike....

Thanks for the heads-up Blackangst! Do you have any idea when PAL is due to strike? I have a number of flights booked with them starting 25th August from BKK to MNL and internally to CGY and CEB and then MNL to BKK in early September.

Can't seem to get any info on their strike from other sources!

The PAL website says and I quote:

''The management of Philippine Airlines (PAL) today (12 August 2010) said it is assuring the riding public that there will be no immediate strike from its ground and cabin crew unions''.

I am in Manila now and will be here until August 31, maybe longer. Let me know if someone wants to get together for a drink.

I will be in the PI from about the second week of Sept to the first wee of Oct. No majors plans yet, but plan to stay in Manila and Davo. May hit Cebu also if I have time.

On only my second trip to PI yet have been to Asia lots.

Looking for a beer budy in Cebu 19th. 27 and Maybe Manila 28/29. Actually I'm not a heavy drinker. And like occasional fine dining.

I have some contacts which may prove useful.

Hotel isn't booked yet. But I will take one of the usuals.

I hope to be there to overlap with WR when he is there. I have some unfinished business with one of his "peachy" friends (just one hehe) so try to hook up with him and I will join too if I can (3 Aussies might be too much for Cebu at any one time, even if WR sounds like a Pom)

Maybe we can all sample the peach at the same time..she is keen to be educated , just been speaking with RB as well. Same hotel as well :D And peach ass has been chosing sex toys ...... well I give girls a choice :D

And I sound Pom to Aussies and an Aussie to Poms but am a Pom for rugby and cricket :)
