I will be in Jakarta next month for the first time and will be staying at the Intercontinental. Could anyone let me know if the bar has WGs that can be picked up? Does the hotel have inroom massage service and if its just massage or plus plus and FS available? How far are the 'fun' areas from the hotel?
I went back through the thread and not much at all on the Intercontinental.

P[/QUOTE]I have no direct information wrt the services they offer in the hotel. But if you ask for a younger woman to massage you, chances are that there will be extras on offer. The only thing is that since you're in a five star hotel, they will price their "tips" accordingly. The Intercontinental is well located to travel whichever direction you choose to look for fun, and fun is not that far away. But still traffic dependent. No bar to pick up from the hotel as far as I know. Good luck and have fun.

Much closer to Stadium, Berlian, Kartika etc (5 mins walking).
10-15 mins in taxi to the other venues.
Long way to the 5 star hotel / Senayan clubs, longer again to Blok M. Up to 1 hour in a taxi for those places before maybe 11pm.

I thank you Hung Man very much for the Info. I have been traveled to Bangkok many times in the past. However, Jakarta is definitely provides an exiciting mongering version regarding club activities and massages parlors. I am a fan of Thai's massages and the go go bars in there. So, the Amaris maybe a good home base for me to go Classic Terminal, hotel Travel and Kartika. I will give my first hand reports to the new scene of Jakarta and somewhat comparision between Bangkok vs Jakarta when I have the opportunity.

I am expart form Singapore, for job reason, I need to stay in jakarta for long time from time to time. I like palces as malio. Suncity, aleix, travel and so forth. From this forum I find someone has went to some other Hi end, private club, and get other kind of service from some spg, Chinese-indo girl, or model. I am keen to try these places. I agree that it is the best choice to get some rib and come back home to cook not try it in restaurant with much higher price, but where is the super market to find such material like rib.

Like Plaza Indonesia, Pacific Place, Senayan City, Plaza Senayan or the Ranch Markets in Oakwood and Grand Indo etc. All carry a decent range and should be able to cater to your needs. If you frequent places like Alexis and Sun City, I guess budget is not your issue... Where do you intend to stay when you go there?

I stay at the Olympic hotel my last 2 trip to Jarkata this is a business hotel behind Lopasari plaza, they don't have a web site mostly local and Indo business man stay here nice 3 star hotel with night club on the 5 FL standard rate start at about 350, 000 but I always can get room there no problem easy walk to Hotel Travel and 15 min walk to Stadium and Katrika, I like the Spark hotel much better but it cost twice as much.

I have plans to visit Jakarta week after next for 3 nights. I have digested a lot of information from the reports and this is what I have planned. Since the stay is short and one needs to make best use of time, I want to stay at The Classic or at the Hotel Travel. Both seems to be full of excitement and this would be a one stop shop as I understand. Kindly give me your thoughts. How do I book a room at The Travel Hotel? They have no web page that allows me to do it online from the US; Classic has a webpage and I sent them a booking request 3 days ago and have not heard back till date. Can someone help me with a trustworthy local travel agent who might do this booking for me. All suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks[/QUOTE]Classic normally does not respond. The best way is to call them up and tell them about the mail. They will then confirm the booking. The other alternative is that you land in the airport and just pick up a discount voucher for either of the hotels from KAHA or Indotel hotel discount voucher counters. Or just take a cab and land there with your luggage and you will get the room. They are not normally full and have enough rooms to provide for you.

Thanks John for the quick response. Has anyone stayed at the Classic hotel before? Please provide some insights. Is it in a good location for food, shopping, availability of taxis etc.
I did try to call them but phone lines were busy due to the earthquake for quite a while. Finally spoke with the reservation gal, who with broken English said to call back tomorrow or wait another day for the hotel to revert back by email. She said this weekend the hotel was sold out as it is tourist season now and up until mid May. Kind of hard to believe after reading your post.
Hotel Travel reception was not helpful at all. My call just was put on hold every time. Seems to me they were looking for someone who could speak English and found none. An US travel agent in LA mentioned that Classic Hotel had asked for a bank transfer from another client to get the confirmed room which I feel is a bad idea.
