Sorry to get your hopes up prematurely, the FS Saunas I was referring to are in Xintang, someone attempted to explain to me how Xintang was part of Guangzhou, whatever.

Anyway. I will be heading back to Shui Bo and checking out the 7th floor at some point. To find out one way or the other.

Noticed there is a place called "Palace Spa" next to Holiday Inn.

Shall I go for it? Any reports of this type of place?

So happens that Zhuji road and He Ping Xi Lu is within walking distance to Holiday Inn.

Today is sunday 26th Sep.

Went hunting and walked past 88 Zhuji road, the BBS was closed. Then continued to 64 He Ping Xi Lu and the BBS is also closed.

Hopefully it's just a sunday and tomorrow will be back to business.

Will report back tomorrow.

Hey guys,

Anyone been to the SPA on Wuhan Lu, under the wuhan bridge on the left hand side or the road. If you go on Tianhe bei lu, turn left on Wuhan lu, instead of going over the bridge, go underneath it and make a U-turn under the bridge to return towards Tianhe bei lu. Its about half a block before you get back to tianhe bei lu, on Wuhan lu.

Its a 6000sqm spa. I heard from another guy that it has full service available but have not tried it. I am thinking of going there next week. If I do go, I will post if its has full service or not. But if someone has tried it already, please post your experience.

Forget about sauna and BBS in GZ, either head over to CP or just go hunt in bars. You are very near Paddy Field, so that is your best bet for finding quality. Go there thursday when they have the salsa night, as that place will be packed and only then those girls will show up.

Tonite went down 88 Zhuji Road; closed. Then walked further, left at He Ping Xi Lu to no. 64 and closed.

Give up and head back to hotel. Now there is a "Palace Spa" next to my hotel. Upon inquiry for thai massage, it cost RMB288/90min. "No go" for now.

Maybe CP is really the best option. Still contemplating on that.

FR of Sauna of Wa King Town Hotel (Wah Jing Tonne Hotel - Mandarin Pinyin pronounciation)

Went to this sauna as reported before expecting for a great experience.

Was there on 28-Sep around 5:30pm and not a soul in sight in this sauna.

I was like oh shit. Changed clothes, took a shower, then went to the lounge. It was dark and not a ghost in sight. Another shit. The locker guy then took me to a narrow corridor down 2 flights of stairs and behind walks a thin WL.

The massage from the girl was 3/10 w/o strength but she started massage in front and concentrated area around the groin. I expected HJ in the package of RMB218 but there was none.

Negotiated for FJ with the girl with 1st quote of RMB500 then down to RMB300. For her quality, I wouldn't pay for that level. Girl quality was 5/10 though the face was cute but GFE was 4/10. So just chatted and finish the session with no happy ending.

Looks like the Asian Games has really scared the wits of these providers.

Guangzhou is not fun.

After yesterday's disaster at sauna de Wah Jing Tonne Hotel, I'd thought to salvage the remaining days of my GZ days by giving another try at this spa just 10 steps across from my hotel at Holiday Inn Shifu.

Go to the entrance, take elevator down, and come to the reception. It was rather big. Then a girl gave me a key ring and asked me if I have my regular girl I replied no. She walked me down a flight of stairs to the locker room where a young man took over. This place looked huge!!

Change, take a shower, and dip in the regular pool naked. It's huge. Thank God there wasn't any patrons yet. Noticed there is a wet sauna room, a hot pool, warm pool, and ice pool and resting area. After dipping in the pool, walk upstairs again to the eating area and TV lazy couch. Again this place is humongous!! They have like 4 sections of these TV lazy couch and I'm guessing they must have like 100 of these couches total.

Alright watch a little TV and mamasan comes over to ask for preference. I asked her discreetly if this spa offers HJ in the massage and she said no. So I guess they have to deny it outside to protect themselves. Then I asked her for an experienced massage lady. Once available, she led me to a roam with a bed. ML was inside already and here starts the session.

Got to talking with the ML in Mandarin first and then switch to Cantonese once found out she's local. Eventually talked about HJ and she eventually agreed to do it and tips is up to me to give at the counter. The HJ was not fantastic but better than none compared to yesterday.

After the massage, when out to the dinning area for my dinner at 7:30pm and customers are more and more. Finished eating, sat at the TV lazy couch for fruits. 9pm, change and head out to pay. I'd say the damage is value for money given the facility which we don't get it back home for that price.

I must say it's kind of sad when it's tough to even get an HJ in china... Since CP is so close, I would bite the bullet and come down to CP via train. Only a 45 min. train ride, and you can have a slice of paradise... I think if you allocated about 4 hours, you could be there and back with a smile on your face...

Too bad the crackdowns are so bad in GZ... But with other options so close... I'd definitely give it a whirl.

p.s. is there a current trade show or something in Dongguan? Seems like there are a ton more non-chinese than usual.

I think the problem with CP is that the train does not run 24 hrs. At least, that was the problem for me. The last train leaves 10:45pm and considering the traffic and the walk, you have to leave Holiday Inn, Garden Hotel etc central location about 10PM in order not to miss the train, and then you cannot come back, have to stay in CP. For most business people like myself, we have work to do during the day and also dinners to go to after work, so it is not really practical to go down to CP, unless you can somehow manage to be staying there, but then, the discussion would not be in the GZ board.

So is there an alternative transportation solution that is reliable, comfortable, fast and 24 hrs? I know you can always take a taxi but I would not consider that to be comfortable, considering the long ride.
