Moderation, up to a point, is good and necessary of course but unfortunately on that German site any exchange of ideas gets smothered to death.
Just about every (example the Silvester party thread) thread gets closed after a few posts. So people the start posting things in the general line up thread, which then subsequently get deleted for 'being off topic. ' 😂.
Unfortunately on this site, there doesn't really seem to be any moderation. People are posting stuff left right and center about winter tires ("snow tires") or all sort of things.
That being said, I do get much much much more information from this site than from that particular German site. The reason I guess is that there are lively discussions here, which unfortunately sometimes goes off an a tangent, but at least people here communicate and discuss things.
Anyway, Germany does not really have a discussion or debating culture, but rather a "Befehl ist Befehl" culture. 🙁
