Cartagena Reports

Hello everybody,

I plan to come in Cartagena in Feb. / March for 1 month (for practicing kitesurf in la Boquilla meanwhile getting girls).

I plan to stay at one Airbnb located in the Radisson Hotel in la boquilla (I will not be a client of the hotel, but will rent a Airbnb apartment located on the last floor of the hotel).

I was wondering what is the current situation of the policy of hotels concerning bringing girls at one place since it seems to change quite fast depending on the various political decisions knowing that:

- my hotel will be located in la boquilla and not the centro, maybe it is less strict there?

- I will not really be a customer of the hotel, but still will have to enter through the hotel lobby.

- I don't feel really comfortable asking directly the Airbnb person renting the apartment.

Any information appreciated thanks!

I was waiting for the Hop On bus in front of the McDonalds on San Martin Sunday morning. An old cabbie approached me, kept asking what I wanted, finally asked if I wanted chicas. I said I did not want any but he kept hanging around talking, said he could bring chicas to my hotel for 400 K.

I have seen a few SW on Cr 1 and on San Martin who approached me asking indirectly. They were nowhere near the attractiveness levels I wanted, including a few very dark and loud trannies, so I said I was touring Cartagena all day, not in hotel, not interested, but would like to see what available in local casas. He was hesitant and looked worried, said something to the effect of "mucho problemos con policias."

Our conversation was sketchy as my Translate app was not working, but his fear was showing. Sunday afternoon, El Presidente was flying in to visit Cartagena. Soldiers armed with automatic weapons were posted about 100 feet apart on both sides of the road all along from the airport into downtown. Colombia seems very serious about crimes and security.

The bros may want to try the cabbies if they want chicas delivered. Ask them to shows pics first. I regret missing out the heydays of the Clock Tower crawling with pretty pincessas Espagnole.

OK, I ask her what's wrong she says its big I tell her no its normal size, but she slaps a condom on it and starts to suck, I'm already turned off by this so after a minute I say lets go. I will be returning, but it will not be for the pros there. Locals resent the hell out of us gringos doing that as well lately especially here towards Christmas. Cartagena has a lot to offer imo. So I can't say I really even blame them. I had so many moments of cringe trying to get obvious looking working girls into my nice Airbnb in front of large groups of local travellers dirty eyeing me up and down Is what it is.

I just saw another retarded youtube video of a gringo walking around with his rent a working girl in Bocagrande like it's some kind of big accomplishment or something. Why do these pathetic youtubers feel the need to show off so much like that?

These youtubers have single handedly destroyed the scene that you guys loved so much there. Will probably be back to normal eventually or maybe not? The covid vaccine mandates to enter certain buildings tells me that a world wide shift is taking place right now.

If I had my choice I would go retire somewhere in Asia maybe a in krabi Thailand but covid is changing that too. I will be on my guard next time in Cartagena though. A lot of those vendors are big trouble waiting to happen and I'm sure a lot of them are scheming ways to get police shakedowns as well with false complaints / lies.

The strictness with guests thing is a double edge sword. It greatly protects you when they photo copy their IDs so the girl would have repercussions if she drugged or stole from you but can also make things complicated with constant changing rules. I personally think it's worth the safety though of always having a security / front door person.

As for the chicas setting me up, I'm pretty much safe. I have my usual chicas I can always call but sometimes I just want something new and shiny. My friend was with me as well with his chica so we watch each other backs.

There are allot of families here. I was walking around centro at night and the line for Crapes and Waffles was longer than the line to get into Alchemico. Like fast food really?

The lit up the tree and all the lights look good around the clock tower. I can see why they want the working girls out of there.

I say let them enjoy their fake moment, they are living the "fake it till you make it" lifestyle LOL.

It does not matter if you are not a hotel resident, rules are rules and management can change them at any time do to most hotels want families there and not a gringo bringing in girls dressed obviously for street work. All my girls who come to see me know to dress normal and not a street worker in reveling clothing, so basically decent pants and shirt and non high heel shoes. You need to ask your ABB host if visitors allowed, what are the restrictions with visitors, do you have to pay per wristband etc?

It's just a 10 minutes drive.

I asked the three Airbnb I was looking for to stay:

- first answer: 'Se pueden invitar amigos, pero se debe reportar para autorizarlos en la porteria'. I guess the Airbnb is OK and I just have to notice the front door guy?

- second answer: 'Bringing friends is ok, is mostly to protect our guest- there has been incidents in the coast of Colombia that foreigners invite not so good local people to the places where they are staying and it doesn't end up well. You are fine bringing friends. '

- third answer: 'no problem with bringing guest but not parties allowed'.

I am asking because as I understand it there are two layers of 'restrictions', what the airbnb guy says, and possibly what the building policy is (in this case the building is the Radisson hotel).

The women act like they are going to eat lobster or some shit there haha. That was my go to dinner spot at one point. I would get high asf then stroll over to the one in Boca Grande for a vanilla milkshake whatever random thing on the menu looked appealing and just people watch pretty much every other night for a few weeks. Finally got tired of it though. Their milkshakes are good though.

Colombia's president just said that beginning on December 14th that expats will need to be fully vaccinated to enter. Wtf. I only have seven days or so to try to get back there. Ffs.

Thanks for your help![/QUOTE]Looks like you're in the clear for visitors. As long as management or security does not pull a fast one on you then you should be fine. I would suggest to advise your visitors to dress normal and not in street worker attire so eyes are not focused on you.

Have fun[/QUOTE]I'm in an airbnb right now. There was nothing in the "house rules", the whole amount was non refundable, and when I got there I was told absolutely no visitors. None.

Fortunately I had registered the one person I actually came here to see as a guest with me. They did eventually let her in, but it was a hassle the first few times. The security guys had to phone the front desk and check the registration. Etc.

I may have been able to dispute it with Airbnb as my payment was made in full and non-refundable before this policy was told to me. But that also might be a long shot as the owner can just say it is to prevent prostitution and it is unlikely that Airbnb is going to side with the customer in that case.
