Can really recommend "ShangHai Nights" which is in the middle of all those bars. Have also been at "Cats" "New York" and "Old Manhattan" but this place was the one I felt treated the best. Also they have the most private backroom.

This report will be most helpful for people with fair Chinese skills although some English-only speakers may also be able to use of what's here. This past trip to SH is not really for mongering as SH isn't really a terribly good destination for that, but I had a few days and nights where I could head out and explore. I will not be talking about Manhattan and Judy's here. Overall the government is currently trying to suppress the P4P scene for Chinese locals. It's still there but just less overt and more expensive.

I would recommend downloading some Chinese apps on your smartphone before going. Maybe not surprisingly, a VPN is not needed since the options I'm talking about are all available to local Chinese.

1. WeChat. Most Chinese guys should already have this. This is for communicating with apartment girls and for those with weaker Chinese, like me, it has an English interface.

2. QQ. Don't get the international version, which hasn't been updated for several years. The regular QQ app doesn't have an English interface so it could be troublesome to navigate if your Chinese is basic or non-existent. Unfortunately most apartment girls will only have QQ and not WeChat.

3. Baidu Map. Google Maps won't work in China. Helps to navigate to apartment girls.

4. Didi Dache. Uber for China. Accepts international credit cards which is awesome. Most Chinese apps only takes Alipay / WeChat pay which you need a Chinese bank account for. Immensely helpful when a taxi could not be hailed and usually cheaper. Unlike taxis which increase their fares at night, Didi fares go down late night. I recommend you set this up in your home country because sometimes it'll take you to your CC's card verification page, which could do an SMS verification, which in turn you don't have access to your home phone number in China. Didi has an English interface. Not sure how good it is, but it's there. There's a competing app called Dida which seems to be cheaper, but I didn't use it.

You need to buy mobile data. Speaking from a US perspective, only a few phones here have TDD-LTE. If yours does, then you can go with China Mobile. Most unlocked AT&T and TMobile phones should be able to use China Unicom's 3 G (HSPA+) which is good enough for things like WeChat and QQ. The China Mobile plan I bought is just 50 RMB with 600 MB of data and some talk / text, which I didn't use much. The 600 MB plan deducts about 17 RMB from the 50 RMB account balance so you use the rest for talk / text and you can talk to an operator to get that added.

The Chinese (Shanghai specific) p4 p forums are easy to find for those with any fair amount of Chinese skills and I'm not going to list them here since the addresses will probably be edited out by mods. You'll need to use these to find the ads I'll talk about below.

The saunas have moved out of dedicated buildings and operating out of random hotels. They're also quite expensive, usually their prices start near US K-girl prices, somewhere around 1200 RMB and up to 2000 and sometimes 3000. I didn't see any value in these saunas personally as there are K-girls in my city and the K-girls are usually better looking and more friendly than the Chinese sauna girls. But for those who aren't in my situation, it's an option. Be aware that some saunas will advertise cheaper girls for 900 RMB or whatever, but when you get there, they aren't available or there's only 1 or 2. It's a bait and switch. Saunas ads are usually at the top of the Chinese P4P forums.

These Chinese forums will also have a section where apartment girls advertise. They also have reviews, but on some sites the contact info for the girl in the review is withheld unless you buy or earn tokens from that website. I'd rather just use the websites where the review is completely free or not rely on the reviews at all. I never used QQ / Wechat girls before until now because the relative value of the saunas have dropped. The apartment girl pics will almost always be heavily Photoshopped so don't be surprised you get a 6 instead of an 8. The QQ number or WeChat ID posted is usually monitored and answered by an operator. You don't get to the real girl's contact info until you arrive near the apartment and the operator gives you her number. I thought earlier the girls were answering QQ messages themselves, until my second apartment girl informed me otherwise. You can negotiate specific services with the girl herself like BBFS, which most girls won't do. Normal prices go from 400 to 600 per pop and there are higher priced ones as well. There are 2 pop and LT (baoye or BY) options which I didn't try.

My first appointment was priced at 600. The girl was from Guangxi, nice boobs but her face was maybe a 5 whereas her ad photos were maybe an 8. Good attitude but no chemistry between us, so she was pretty mechanical. I think that's one thing I miss from the sauna is that a lineup allows for you to make eye contact with the girl, and you can pick one that meshes well with you. Massage + BBBJ + CFS. The apartment didn't have a hot shower, and so I had to take a cold shower before the session.

Second appointment was priced at 400. Shandong girl with a slim figure and a 5.5 to 6 face. We had good chemistry going and she was horny as hell so I asked her for BBFS. She said she'd do it for 1000, which I couldn't go down further from. We both really enjoyed the session, and she said it felt great to do it BB after a long time going all covered. I came on her back as she requested. Her shower was working properly but her towels were wet and disgusting. So be aware that sometimes the apartment facilities are not going to be great. The girl also made me wait for 45 minutes. This is because the operator doesn't always know the girl's schedule that well, so I'd imagine it'd be awkward for a white guy to get into a similar situation. He has to stand outside the building for 30+ min with the local residents and security guys walking by all the time wondering why the hell he's here.

The BBS situation is currently not good. The QQ girls are on average a big upgrade from the BBS girls in terms of service, so while you save 200 RMB ($30 US), ask yourself if it's worth getting minimal services vs being able to take your time. Before what I could do is to peek in a BBS and make eye contact with the girl, then pick the more enthusiastic ones. Now the girls work in secret so you can't preview them as easily. I only tried one this trip. There used to be a well known set of BBS shops called Xinsandui (literally, new three team). I read how that place has adapted to the new environment in the Chinese forums, and I got curious, so I decided to check it out. My experience was exactly the same as the Chinese forum described. Once you go out of the Line 13 Fengzhuang subway station, you walk one block and there's a couple of old guys on motorcycles who spot you. They pretty much know what you're looking for. They come up to me and say "it's not here anymore" and I tell him "OK take me there". I was taken to a shop with locked glass doors. The place had zero lighting so as to make it look like it was closed. I was taken to a second place inside an apartment complex where 5 girls were sitting around looking bored. I picked one but the service was non-existent and couldn't even get a hard on. Price is 200 RMB and 10 RMB for the motorcycle guy. Personally BBSs were something I enjoyed in the past, but no longer, so I can't recommend it. But if you like cheap no frills sex, the Chinese forums will direct you to some places closer to where you live.

Another ISG member told me about dance halls in Suzhou, but no time to go to Suzhou this trip.

Other things you can try are WeChat people nearby, Momo and Tantan. I was hoping there may be P4P girls there, but it doesn't seem like there is. Good for flirting with a girl and non-sexual meetings if that's your thing.

As good as usual. Sunday night means a bit less competition from Chinese fat cats for the prettier / younger targets. Found a Laotian - 7. 5, 25 yr old, no childbirth marks. Who was new to the business (I "think" I believe it), second night at Manhattan and I was (again, allegedly) her first paying client. She offered the standard 1,200/2,000 pricing. Told her I'd just pop once so less than 2 hours. Settled for 800. In any event, he seemed pretty new to it and needed to be given instructions. Decent experience.

For me BBS or Saunas with going inside, choosing one, have interaction and leave 30 minutes later is no fun, you know all tastes are different.

I want to have party and fun, and on the other hand to talk to Chinese ladies who mostly speak perfect English and look very good. But to answer your question, arriving at 10 pm, leaving at 4 am, I expect a bill of 3000-4000 for drinks, kissing, touching and maybe a bit more.

You just need to be aware that nothing in life comes for free. And as I meet regular other guests from time to time, there seem to be folks that share my preference.

Hopefully things will loosen up and prices will decline since I always look forward to my relaxation in Shanghai after the long flight, crazy airport, traffic, etc. Sure miss SNG as it was a one stop shop for us short timers to get back up to speed on the latest and greatest offerings. My only advice is stick to tried and true, since my few forays off the beaten path have been near disastrous in all respects. Cheers!

It's now waiting for the judge to call them up and give the verdict. His defense is he only used the internet to spread illegal information (SNG) and did not manage WG's; that was all Judy. If the judge buys it, he can get away with 2 3 years. If not, considerably longer.
