Quality is not as good as Classic and is more expensive. Buy let's get real, there is no better value for money in the entire world than Hotel Classic when you compare. Classic has young, hot girls and includes nice rooms with a shower for about 25 USD an hour for everything - and it's safe. I don't know any place anywhere in the world that has a deal as good as that when you are considering both the girl and the venue.

Jakarta is different. Not a tourist destination and you fish in the same pond as the locals. They are far more welcoming. Locals in BKK don't want foreigners in their places. Also locals in Thailand like to brag about what they spent. Does not seem to be as much the case in Jakarta.

Especially the crap shag at Hotel Classic. That's "standard" crap service at that place. Although it's cheap and the girls are young and hot. It's extremely rare to get good sex there. " His most recent post stating "Buy let's get real, there is no better value for money in the entire world than Hotel Classic when you compare" should be read in tandem with his earlier posts (there are many actually) complaining about how bad the service is there.

There are a lot of great places in Jakarta, and it is IMHO overall a better scene than Bangkok although it is difficult to know whether that will continue for long given the real possibility of politically-motivated crackdowns, some of which have already occurred. But as a Jakarta regular, I don't even bother with Classic (or Travel, its competitor for terrible service) anymore.

So, what do you recommend, LA5?

OMG! LOL! Generally had luck with colleagues with at least pointing me in the right direction. I thought there might be places locals go, not so much for the price but for the change of scenery and experience. Being going to the same joints mentioned here so was looking to something different when I have time to explore and not just want to shoot a load. Glad to hear Classic is considered good value.

The latter brothels are in the same price range as Classic and Travel and to the extent the cheaper lounge is open at Malioboro--this seems to vary from one time to another--it can too be in the same general price range.

There are, of course, many other good options in Jakarta, many of which have been mentioned in this thread and some of which are rather inexpensive.

As to Smoothy's childish insult directed at me for pointing out the contradictions in his posts about Classic, it is sad to see such an immature post by a member of this community.
