I would stand by everything I said about KI, having just spent time there Friday and Saturday nights just gone. All of the things I mentioned and confirmed by Crocodilexp are in play. The cockroaches are certainly about. , OS personally took the opportunity to relieve himself in the shower a couple of times and killed 4 mosquitos in MTR while getting ready to entertain the lovely lady, including one that had bitten somebody.

Often though those reports do not reach print until they are not so helpful. Fortunately I haven't gotten Dengue although have had my share of mosquito bites over the course of my many visits to Jakarta, including a few at the five-star hotel I usually stay at in Central Jakarta (the General Manager there told me other guests have reported mosquitos there).

Dengue is scary, even more so for those who have already had a bout with it; subsequent bouts become increasingly dangerous to one's health. At one point, I thought it might not be a problem in North Jakarta (where Kota Indah is) based on a number of reports I saw of Dengue in South Jakarta. However, since then I have seen at least one report of Dengue in North Jakarta. Insect repellant helps, but it is not 100 percent, particularly if one doesn't want to mess with DEET-based repellants.

I recently spent 9 days in Jakarta, tried four hotels, went to Illigals, went to Colosseum, etc. , etc.

Quick observations: I have nothing new to add about Illigals, the recent posts about it are roughly accurate. Colosseum is notorious for being full of freelancers; however, when I was there, I didn't get that sense. There were a few freelancers, maybe a handful. Harris Vertu is a very nice hotel, and not too expensive. Grand Indonesia has some gorgeous women. For me, the general look of the girls in Jakarta will merit a return trip. For my tastes, they are on average the most attractive Asian women.

The majority of girls that I choose came from WeChat. Now, WeChat is a scam because the pictures rarely ever match the girl, maybe never. I learned this on my first day in Jakarta. Two times in two attempts, the girls sent to my room didn't match the photos on their ads. This didn't stop me from doing the deed, but it taught me a valuable lesson. Colosseum full of freelancers? Nope. Not at all. Most girls that go there come in groups and are kept a close eye on, the chance to get to them directly is slim to none unless you know some of the guys in the group. The second type of girl that goes there works for the club as "LC" (Lady Companion). You can book them, but that's a different ballgame and very costly, even more so than CJ's girls for take-out.
