Just put cash deposit for incidentals. Long time ago I used credit card and there were many scam claims and my card issuer froze the card.
Only time I use the card is if I book from asiatravel, Agoda etc.
To book AC hotels I e mail them only. When they ask me to put cc details I decline. Then they say I need to reconfirm 2 days before I come in via e mail. That suits me fine.
In Phi it is safer to use cash for everything.

Com After 10 bookings (no matter where or when) you'll get credit for a free night. Use Ebates when booking and you'll get a further 3% refund. Use a credit card with cash back and you'll get more.
Of course none of this will prevent you from having to make a deposit on check in. Any decent hotel usually requires in. In Angeles City that means places like ABC and Lewis Grand. Interesting to note when Lewis Grand tried to run my card for a hold my issuer suspected fraud and shut down my card. Had to wait for me to contact them by phone to let them know it was legit. Turns out the LG staff had no idea it didn't go through because they use an old kind of card machine, so they never had any of my money anyway.
Will be back in a couple weeks, will anyone else be there March 9 - 15.

The great thing with CC (as opposed to debit cards) is that you see the bill before you pay it. I had an issue with a hotel in Australia, who charged £100 to my credit card about 3 months after I had stayed there. I told the card company there was no basis for the charge and that I wasn't paying it. They refunded it (eventually).
I accept that you don't want to use the CC at a dodgy looking back street shop, but I've got 4 niughts booked at ABC in March, and had no concerns using the CC to make the booking. You also have the security when using the CC that the issuer is jointly liable if you don't get what you paid for.
